Run 4 Roses SEMO Area Standouts

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the standouts from the Southeast part of the state that we had a chance to watch during the first session of the Run 4 Roses in Louisville, KY.     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_6305.jpeg?w=931" alt="" class="wp-image-948770" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo: Nick McNeal</figcaption></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='317336' first='Kate' last='Rubel'] (MO Phenom STL-Bell): The 6'0" 2026 guard from St Vincent has a good blend of size and versatility which makes her a tough matchup for defenders. When she gets to her dominant left hand, she is turning the corner and coming strong with a finish or a trip to the free throw line. She was also dropping some impressive dimes to open cutters as she can see over defenders with her height. She's very comfortable as a ball handler and facilitator.     ******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_5762.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-943385" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='875804' first='Abygail' last='Amberger'] ([program_tooltip program_id='712817' first='Southeast' last='Dynasty'] 15U): A 5'11" 2027 forward from Perryville was very impressive in the first game that I saw her on Thursday morning. She put up a 30-piece to start her participation in the event as she was getting buckets in a variety of ways. She is a strong 3-point shooter on the pick and pop and she was also attacking the basket with her dominant left hand and scoring on strong takes through traffic. She is an impressive young prospect with her overall skill set.     ******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Amelia-Sherrill.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-653315" /></figure>   Amelia Sherill ([program_tooltip program_id='948123' first='TC' last='Hoops'] 17U): A 6'0" 2025 forward from St. Paul in Farmington is a skilled post player whose skill set fits in well with her team that does a lot of ball and player movement. She can find open cutters from the high post with her passing and she can also hit an open 3-pointer. She is also a solid rebounder. She was also very effective in the low post where she got good position and scored around the basket.     ******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/03/Brie-Rubel.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-619475" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='317351' first='Brie' last='Rubel'] (MO Phenom STL-Bell): A 5'8" 2026 point guard from St Vincent who can handle the offense in addition to her ability to knock down open 3-pointers. She does a good job in the pick and roll where she can deliver a nice pass to the forward rolling to the basket. She can also hit the shot over the top of the high ball screen.     ******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Laney-Porter.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-654474" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='741586' first='Laney' last='Porter'] ([program_tooltip program_id='948123' first='TC' last='Hoops'] 17U): A 5'9" 2025 guard from Puxico who plays the game in constant motion at both ends of the court. She's an athletic lefty who moves well without the ball and can knock down 3-pointers off the catch. She will also attack the basket on fearless drives. She was very good on the second line of her team's full court press as she was able to get deflections and steals.     ******     [player_tooltip player_id='984308' first='Lillie' last='Cole'] (Napheesa Collier Elite - Adams): A 5'8 2025 guard from Jackson who is a talented offensive player who has the trifecta down as she can pass, shoot and dribble very well. She's quick and she keeps the ball moving with her deft passing. She also has a feathery touch from 3-point range. She has received several collegiate offers during the summer.   ********   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Lily-Watkins.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-654750" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='982963' first='Lily' last='Watkins'] ([program_tooltip program_id='948123' first='TC' last='Hoops'] 17U): A 5'5" 2025 guard from Jackson who has good quickness and she's very tenacious on defense in her team's full court press. She plays at the top of the press and she is very active as she makes good use of her speed. She is also a good ball handler and she swishes home open 3-pointers.     ******   [player_tooltip player_id='627256' first='PJ' last='Reutzel']: A 5'8 guard from Fredericktown who is back in action after missing the last several months with a knee injury. She is an impressive offensive threat from all three levels. She can maneuver herself in the lane to score and can also knock down perimeter jumpers.   *******   [player_tooltip player_id='848991' first='Braelyn' last='Turnbough'] (Napheesa Collier Elite 16U-Humiston): The 5'7 guard from Arcadia Valley is a young bucket-getter who had a strong weekend in helping her team to a bracket championship. She was instant offense with her shot creation and ability to knock down 3-pointers. She made five triples in one of her team's victories.   ******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_5766.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-948165" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='876211' first='Alexis' last='Nugent'] ([program_tooltip program_id='712817' first='Southeast' last='Dynasty'] 15U): A 5'9" wing from Jackson who has good length and who plays with good activity, especially at the top of the zone defense. She will also grab steals while darting into the passing lanes off her anticipation. She is a solid ball handler who showed some nice slashing ability into the lane along with some nice finishes on the runner.     ******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/05/Tara-Davis-II.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-908483" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='905450' first='Tara' last='Davis'] ([program_tooltip program_id='948123' first='TC' last='Hoops']): A 5'4" 2026 guard from Doniphan who is usually one of the smallest players on the court, but she knows how to get into the lane of her slick penetrating drives. She can also finish well amongst the taller defenders with creative scoop shots. She can also knock down open 3-pointers off the catch.
