Run 4 Roses SWMO Standout Shooting Guards/Wings

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the top shooting guards and wings from the Southwest Missouri area that we had the opportunity to watch during the first session of the Run 4 Roses Classic in Louisville, KY.   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_1762.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-946974" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='303495' first='Mikayla' last='Pilley'] (Phee Elite 17U Olufson): The 5'11" 2025 guard from Kickapoo did an excellent job of helping Phee Elite to a bracket championship. She is a versatile player who can get into the lane and score from a variety of angles in the paint with excellent body control. She's an excellent ball handler with good court vision and she can make open perimeter shots. She has deep shooting range from beyond the 3-point line and she moves well without the ball to get herself open. She can relocate well to get open. She can also create well off the dribble to hit jumpers and cut well off the ball to get layups.   *******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_5807.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-946975" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='742255' first='Addyson' last='Ruffin'] ([program_tooltip program_id='716233' first='Standout' last='Prep']): A 5'8 2025 guard from Nixa who is a strong bucket-getter with a real scorer's mentality. She is a good athlete who gets down hill well on the drive and she is excellent at pushing the tempo in transition. She was also hitting the pull up jumper and the 3-pointer to keep defenders honest. She was also putting in work on the defensive end.     *******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_5869.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-946976" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='433312' first='Awbree' last='Berning'] ([program_tooltip program_id='713416' first='Missouri' last='Select']): A 5'10" southpaw 2026 wing player from Republic who is a matchup problem with her height and versatility. She attacks the basket well through contact and she can also knock down 3-pointers with her sling-shot release over her left ear. She can also see over defenders to drop dimes from the perimeter. Her rebounding and defensive effort is also good as she works to keep opposing ball handlers in front of her.     *******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_5963.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-946978" /></figure>   Taylor Swarmes (J&E Elite): A 5'10" 2025 guard from Class 1 Final Four participant Liberal who is a talented offensive player who can score from all three levels. She has a feathery shooting touch from 3-point range. She moves well and comes off screens ready to shoot it. She also has good moves along the baseline and she can also work inside to use her height over smaller defenders. She is also unselfish player who can pass the ball and make plays for her teammates.     ********   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_6017.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-946980" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='874621' first='Ceely' last='Young'] (SWMO Storm 17U): A 5'7" guard from Nixa who displayed a nice shooting stroke from 3-point range. She was equally capable of shooting it off the catch and off the dribble. with the side-step 3-pointer. She has good quickness and was able to go coast to coast for a layup in transition. She also split a double-team and scored in the lane on a runner.     *******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_5866.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-946984" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='937730' first='Lanney' last='Strong'] ([program_tooltip program_id='713416' first='Missouri' last='Select']): A 5'9" 2025 guard from Republic who plays a solid all-around game. The southpaw rebounds the ball well and she was stepping out and hitting open 3-pointers. She was also very effective when she was getting downhill on the dribble to score in the lane. She can also handle the ball and facilitate when needed.     *******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/07/IMG_6153.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-946991" /></figure>   Lydia Goodin (MO Phenom Springfield): A 5'6" 2027 guard from Strafford who impressed me with her tenacity on the defensive end. She moves her feet well and she can also hawk the ball with her pressure. She was also capable of turning the corner on the drive to get into the lane while hitting the open 3-pointer. She also uses her speed to get out in transition.
