We are getting ever so close to the start of the high school girls basketball season in New Jersey. Exciting times are ahead, as is the recruiting outlook for the state. September, while lighter than other months, has seen several player commitments, as well as some college offers. Let's take a look around and see what's been going on.

[player_tooltip player_id='601341' first='Sophia' last='Georgiades'] - Rutgers Prep (2026) commits to Boston U

As the commitments have been rolling off the board for the Class of 2025 prospects, we now have an early Class of 2026 commitment in Rutgers Prep junior [player_tooltip player_id='601341' first='Sophia' last='Georgiades'], headed to the Patriot League and Boston U. The Ridge transfer had herself a fantastic sophomore season, scoring 15.5 points per game along with nearly six boards a contest. Well-rounded guard that can shoot, defend and play down low if needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='525477' first='Precious' last='Wheeler'] - Franklin (2025) commits to Rutgers

As the men's basketball team at Rutgers has become one of the most high-profile programs in the country, the women's basketball team is closely following suit. The Scarlet Knights didn't have to go far to pull in one of the better prospects in their recruiting class as [player_tooltip player_id='525477' first='Precious' last='Wheeler'] committed to the program last week. Impressive forward with plenty of room to grow and a great feel for the paint, the post and the boards.

[player_tooltip player_id='879631' first='Madison' last='Stuart'] - Eastern Regional (2025) commits to Fairleigh Dickinson

Stuart is the third player that we've seen in New Jersey this month to be taking her talents to the Division I level, committing to play for Fairleigh Dickinson in late August. Her junior year saw tremendous growth across the board, turning into one of the better scorers in the Olympic Conference. Her height has given her a tremendous advantage on both sides of the ball and she's very quickly learning how to best utilize it.

[player_tooltip player_id='333350' first='Gianna' last='Modica'] - Immaculate Heart (2025) commits to Franklin & Marshall

We've gotten to see plenty of Modica on the floor over the past several years and while her high school stats haven't really jumped off the page, the growth she's shown at the AAU level with [program_tooltip program_id='774068' first='NJ' last='Panthers'] is what's gotten her to this point. The guard, a potent combination of shooting and speed, will soon be headed to Franklin & Marshall, and a big senior season is primed for her this winter/spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='559046' first='Ava' last='LaMonica'] - Rutgers Prep (2026) offered by Bryant

We really got a chance to see what LaMonica can be as a player in her sophomore season, turning into one of the best scorers and overall players for Rutgers Prep. Her recent offer from Bryant is one of many we expect to be coming her way this winter and spring, a definite breakout year for her on top of double-figure scoring averages last season. Creative and crafty guard that we're excited to see develop as a passer and defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='559076' first='Jayah' last='Curtis'] - Montclair Immaculate (2026) offered by NJIT

A great guard that improved leaps and bounds as a sophomore, Curtis is finding her stride quickly with Montclair Immaculate. The offers are going to start pouring in for the rising junior thanks in large part to a really successful shooting touch. Very efficient and effortless it looks like when she's going up for a shot. Intrigued to see how she develops her game as a junior and would like to see some more defensive success.

[player_tooltip player_id='559136' first='Camden' last='Epstein'] - Ramapo (2026) offered by Holy Cross

Epstein burst onto the scene as a freshman for Ramapo, but had her breakout campaign as a sophomore, combining a knack for pure scoring with fantastic three-point shooting. When she has everything working on the floor, she's an absolute nightmare to guard. Well-deserved offer, one we hope will open the flood gates for many more upcoming because she's beyond deserving of it.

[player_tooltip player_id='651496' first='Ashley' last='Kreiger'] - Ranney (2027) offered by Harvard

Kreiger quickly made her presence felt as a freshman for Ranney, recording quite a few double-doubles while posting double-figure scoring averages. If this is the appetizer for what's to come in her career, the main entree is going to be a dominant big with shot-blocking prowess, immense control of the boards and an immaculate touch around the rim. Time will only tell, but the building blocks are in place.
