The San Francisco & Oakland sections have produced exceptional basketball talent, and the 2023-2024 season was no exception. As we look ahead to the upcoming 2024-2025 season, it's time to highlight some of the most promising junior and senior players who are looking to continue their dominance on the court.

Russell, a 6'1" junior from Oakland Tech, has been a standout player throughout her 2023-2024 sophomore season. Nationally ranked within the ESPN Top 60, she consistently contributes double-doubles, showcasing her dominance on both ends of the court. Her length and agility allow her to be a dominant scorer in the paint and a skilled ball handler, capable of moving the ball up the court with ease. As she enters her junior season, Russell is expected to continue turning heads and reinforcing her status as one of the top players in the nation.

Egeonu returns to the court after an impressive Junior campaign at Oakland. Last season, she averaged 14.7 points per game and had a national ranking for her 4.6 blocks per game. Her ability to consistently contribute double-doubles (13 times) and grab 10.4 rebounds per game showcased her dominance on both ends of the floor. Her consistent shooting, with a field goal percentage often exceeding 50%, solidifies her reputation as a reliable scorer. Egeonu seems to be poised to have an even more impressive senior season. Fans can expect her to continue dominating the court and leaving a lasting impact in the area.

Tagaga's sophomore season was marked by her impressive defensive work and solid scoring. She averaged 9.5 points per game while showcasing her defensive instincts, offering 4.7 steals per game, positioning herself as a top defender among upperclassmen in the section. Her ability to contribute on the boards, averaging 7.1 rebounds per game, further highlighted her well-rounded skillset. Tagaga's defensive prowess and scoring ability make her a valuable asset to the team. As she continues to develop her skills moving into her senior season, she seems to have the potential to become an even more dominate force on the court.

As a junior, Raghavan showcased her scoring ability, averaging 10.6 points per game, which was #2 in the San Francisco section. Her efficient shooting, with a field goal percentage just under 50%, and her ability to get to the free throw line with 44 made, contributed to her team's success. Last season, her team finished first in the league with a 24-5 record. Entering her senior year, Raghavan is poised to build upon her previous accomplishments and potentially increase her scoring average as a leading player.

Zhu's consistent scoring throughout last season was highlighted by an exceptional performance against Burton last December, where she led her team to a victory with a season-high 31 points. Her average of 11.4 points per game, combined with her defensive contributions of 1.9 steals per game, made her a valuable asset to her team. Zhu's scoring and defensive instincts make her a force on the court. Fans can hopefully look forward to another impressive season from her.
