With NJ high school hoops less than two months away, let's take a look at a few players who come into the season ready for a big breakout after working incredibly hard over the summer. These hoopers have impressed me tremendously and look like totally different players than they were just a year ago.

[player_tooltip player_id='1048696' first='Cassidy' last='Moore'] | Gill St. Bernard's

Playing on a loaded team this winter, Cassidy is ready to show up and show out! Her confidence has reached peak levels and it was evident the very last time I watched her play, which was just two weeks ago at The Expo. Not only did she earn MVP honors, she did it by being head and shoulders better than her peers. She ran the floor with electricity, sank shots at a high clip, dished out dimes and committed herself to the defensive assignment. Months of hard work this summer has come together and paid dividends! She just might be GSB's x-factor if they want to on a deep postseason run come March.

[player_tooltip player_id='789189' first='Brooke' last='Stagliano'] | Paul VI

The past few months with the Comets has truly elevated Brooke's already established skillset. She already was solid from the mid-range and 3-point territory, but this summer took her efficiency to even greater heights. When she goes on a heater, it can be devastating because she just doesn't miss! She's ready to prove herself as much more than just a 3-point shooter, because she IS so much more than that! She plays criminally underrated defense that can turn the tide of any game! Already with a few D1 offers in her pocket, she enters her sophomore campaign prepared for battle and ready to impress coaches and continue stacking offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='651499' first='Victoria' last='Liedl'] | Hillsborough

Victoria got her feet wet playing some varsity minutes in her freshman season and getting familiar with high school basketball. As her sophomore season nears, DIFFERENT STORY! She shined bright this summer with Team Elevation showing off exactly what she's capable of, at times even finishing as the games' leading scorer. She showed off the ability to manipulate the defense and score/facilitate at a high level. With excellent ball movement, she created opportunities for herself and others. All of this experience is sure to pay off in a major way as the Raiders look to build upon an excellent 2023-2024 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='871200' first='Reagan' last='Powell'] | Middle Township

With added toughness and newfound confidence at the guard spot, Reagan started to make waves during last season's playoff run. She stayed in her bag throughout the summer playing and looked better and better as the months passed. She looks like a LEADER out there! She isn't fading into the background and isn't shying away from competition. She's always embraced physicality, but now she's solidifying herself as the aggressor and making others feel her presence. Reagan is going to be a force in the CAL!

[player_tooltip player_id='1048682' first='Alani' last='White'] | Atlantic Tech

Alani went from virtually unknown a year ago to battling tough and holding her own against UConn commit [player_tooltip player_id='591477' first='Gandy' last='Malou-Mamel'] this summer! She comes into her final season of high school ball with added experience and an improved skillset on both sides of the ball. A solid 6'0" forward, she can bang down low with bigger post players and also run the floor with ease and fluidity; effective versatility. She's saving her best for last!

[player_tooltip player_id='601519' first='Annabel' last='Koss-DeFrank'] | Glen Ridge

Coming back from injury is never easy and can have effects on the body, not only physically, but mentally. Making her return to basketball this summer, Annabel is back and looking good! She's most comfortable when she's on the court and while she's still getting a feel for things and shaking off the rust, it's safe to say she'll be back with a vengeance this winter! If injury can't shake or break her confidence, nothing can!

[player_tooltip player_id='1048724' first='Nyeema' last='Torres'] | Camden Academy

After watching her compete just a few weeks ago, I am fully convinced that there isn't an opponent Nyeema fears. Small in stature, she showed no reluctance driving inside and taking it right at the bigs. She was ultra physical, fought for rebounds and was assertive on defense. She has flown under the radar for some time now but I have a feeling all that is over! If she imposes her will like she did at The Expo, everyone will see a totally different player than that of before.
