The 2024-25 season for girls' high school basketball is right around the corner. Nevertheless, now is the perfect time to identify the top duos from classes 3A-A.

'Dynamic Duos' are teammates that can deliver a consistent 1-2 punch. Teammates that compliment one another and that shoulder the workload for their respective teams.

Here are some notable duos from Class 3A, 2A and A.

3A - Santa Fe Indian School Braves

In 2023-24, the No. 4 Braves (19-10, 3-3) were bounced in the Final Four after being defeated by No. 1 Tohatchi, 44-39. With that being said, the season was still successful in terms of players stepping up and contributing. Such players were [player_tooltip player_id='391321' first='Emma' last='Lewis'] and [player_tooltip player_id='648199' first='Kaydence' last='Riley'].

Lewis is a two-time All-State Selection and a consistent Double-Double threat. This past season, Lewis averaged 12.8 points and 11.0 rebounds, totaling 11 Double-Doubles. Additionally, Lewis averaged 3.7 steals and 1.1 blocks, showcasing her two-way brilliance.

As a sophomore, Riley posted a respectable 8.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.3 blocks. Riley, does a good job of putting herself in a position to make plays on both ends of the floor. The 5'9" forward is not afraid to battle in the interior and has improved her touch around the basket.

2A - Tatum Coyotes

As a sophomore, [player_tooltip player_id='893558' first='Avery' last='Henard'] earned an All-State Second Team Selection while [player_tooltip player_id='888503' first='Louann' last='Villasenor'] was an Honorable Mention as a junior. The pair helped lead the Coyotes (27-3, 8-0) to the Final Four as the No. 2 seed where they lost a Double-Overtime thriller to the eventual 2A champions, the No. 6 Panthers from Penasco.

The expectation is that both Henard and Villasenor will have a great 2024-25 campaign. The reason being that, Henard and Villasenor will better understand the nuances of the game. Also because of the opportunity to build upon the success from the season prior.

Henard was a reliable option in the half-court that can also defend at a high level. Villasenor is a dangerous offensive rebounder with an insane motor. Villasenor is one of the few players that can play the entire game without needing a substitution.

Class A - Corona/Vaughn Cardinals

[player_tooltip player_id='839425' first='Harper' last='Dunn'] and [player_tooltip player_id='391111' first='Kassidy' last='Lightfoot'] are a bruising front-court tandem with great length. In 2023-24, Dunn and Lightfoot were 1 & 2 in essentially every statistical category for the Cardinals (20-4, 8-0).

Dunn, an elite rim protector and scoring machine when in a rhythm, put up 21.4 points and 17.6 rebounds 2.1 steals and 8.9 blocks. The 6'6" center shot 55 percent from the field, logging 23 Double-Doubles AND 10 Triple-Doubles en route to an All-State Selection (Second Team).

Lightfoot is an intruiging forward that averaged 12.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.2 blocks while shooting 39 percent overall. The 5'10" senior can also occasionally step-out and hit the 3ball which gives Corona/Vaughn much needed spacing.

Class A - Fort Sumner/House Vixens

Allyssa and Emmarie are arguably the top duo from Class-A. The pair of 2025 prospects led No.4 Fort Sumner/House (23-7, 4-2) to a State Championship in 2023-24 after defeating No. 3 Logan, 54-36. Moreover, both were First Team All-State Selections thanks to their performances on both ends of the floor throughout the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='888500' first='Allyssa' last='Casaus'] and Emmarie Casaus each have good length and speed mixed with fundamentals. That combination allows for them to put their stamp on the game and dictate the flow.

Class A - Roy/Mosquero Blues

This past season, both [player_tooltip player_id='642715' first='Sylvania' last='Baca'] and [player_tooltip player_id='403408' first='Nora' last='Crisp'] earned an All-State nod. Crisp was a First Team Selection while Baca was on the Second Team. The Lady Blues (25-2, 8-0) were the No. 1 overall seed, but were upset in the Final Four vs No. 4 Fort Sumner/House, 51-47.

Crisp led the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.5 points -- on 51 percent shooting -- and 6.8 rebounds. Crisp was also the only player on the roster to log a Double-Double, finishing with three on the year. As for Baca, she posted 10.7 points and 4.4 rebounds. Additionally, Baca facilitated the rock at a high level and defended at a high level. The combo-guard totaled 119 assists and 113 steals which averaged out to 4.4 assists and 4.2 steals per game respectively.
