November 4th is right around the corner! It's fitting that the temperature has begun to change as we approach the fall season. The brisk breeze in the air reminds me of those chilly nights as you are leaving the gym. My buddy today said “yeah, it's hoodie season now.” With hoodies, comes basketball. Like I said, it's right around the corner.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pretty soon here at PGH Tennessee we will be dropping rankings, some team previews, and other spotlighted material to highlight these spectacular student athletes we have in this state. I mean we will continue to give the seniors their flowers, pump up the junior class, show love to the sensational sophomores, and continue to introduce the newbies (freshmen), playing the game we all love. This upcoming season will definitely be a phenomenal one filled with many storylines that will take us through until the end of March. Now, should I give you a taste of what's to come? I'll just wait a bit and drop little bread crumbs here and there.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sticking with the newbies theme, as you all know, I am excited to have the 2028 class join the fold of the high school ranks. Each and every day, I hear and see more and more young ladies who are ready to get down and compete on these hardwood floors in Tennessee. Like I said, we are 3 weeks away. I know a lot of these girls are new to the grind of the conditioning, the early morning workouts, the open gyms, ect. From the arc, she's money. Her game, her swag, and maybe a little bit of her looks, would remind you of Phoenix Mercury star Sophie Cunningham. Daily brings it when she steps onto the floor. I mentioned how she can fill it up from deep, but she doesn't blink an eye if she has to put it on the floor and finish. A six footer who can shoot the 3 ball, but grind it out in the paint. This kid is a solid defender who will go toe to toe with anyone down low. Athletic big who moves well, she's a grinder, someone who is just tough and physical in the interior. Offensively, she can play with her back to the basket and face up. Defensively, she is strong and tough in the paint, all the while collecting boards and blocking shots. She has been carving clubs up on the travel ball scene and will look to inflict her game on TSSAA opponents. Love how this kid gets after it on both ends of the floor. She will be a solid scoring option for the Lady Knights and will look to get some minutes early in each contest. I love her leadership ability, how she gives off infectious energy her teammates gravitate towards. She goes hard each and every possession.
