These guards have been putting in the work, and after a good sophomore year, they are learning their play style and are ready to have their best season yet.    Za'myria King is a hooper. She has the ability to create her own shot in-game, making her instant offense. King has the unique ability to react to the defense in a split second and make creative moves to get to the rim or pull up for her jump shot. She has one of the best pull-up jumpers, getting high off the ground and releasing at the top of her shot.   Recently, she received an offer from HCC and transferred to East Bay, where I foresee her averaging anywhere from 15-20 PPG this season, after averaging 16.9 last season at Winthrop. King is really breaking out and becoming a well-known baller in the area, and she's on her way to making her mark in the next Prep Girls Hoops state rankings.     Camryn Jeter is what we like to call in the basketball community a "DOG." Camryn will guard you full court, steal the ball, score, and then immediately get back into her defensive stance to hound you even more. When you watch Camryn play, you can see the hunger in her eyes as she locks in on her opponent, and she doesn't turn it off until the game is over.   Camryn is also a knockdown shooter off the catch. She gets to her spot quickly in transition, lets it fly, and hits clutch shots with a confidence and swag as if there was never any doubt her shot was going in. Jeter is an exciting player to watch and an ultimate competitor. After a successful travel season with [program_tooltip program_id='713654' first='Tampa' last='Thunder'], expect Camryn to have her best season yet at Sumner, as her confidence is on another level.     Maya Ankers is an emerging prospect who has been turning heads at recent showcases and following a strong sophomore season at Armwood, where she averaged 8.9 PPG, with a season-high 25 points on an impressive 12/18 shooting (67%). As a two-sport athlete, Maya's athleticism and quickness are evident, particularly on the defensive end, where she has a knack for jumping passing lanes and getting steals. She also boasts textbook shooting form, making her a threat both off the dribble and off the catch.   In addition to her scoring, Maya handles the ball well in traffic, always keeping her head up to find teammates cutting to the basket. After catching the attention of many this offseason, I expect all eyes to be on her this year as she's poised to nearly double her scoring average and become a key player in the Armwood system.     Mariah Farmer, another standout guard from Sumner High, is poised for her best season yet. Last year, she averaged 10.6 PPG with a game-high of 22 points, serving as one of the primary ball handlers for both her high school team and her club team, The Compound. Mariah is responsible for making smart decisions on offense and has the ability to run your system, particularly in the pick-and-roll. She's also a threat off the ball with her quick first step, allowing her to get to the rim for easy, uncontested layups—especially on baseline drives.   Where Mariah truly shines is on the defensive end. She's a relentless defender who stays low in her stance, moves her feet quickly, and constantly makes hustle plays. Whether it's diving on the floor or fighting for loose balls, she's always causing turnovers in any way possible. After a productive and development-focused travel season with The Compound, expect her to really hit her stride this year. Keep an eye on her as she continues to elevate her game.     Niamaya Frasier is the ultimate competitor, excelling on both sides of the ball. She thrives in fast-paced systems, getting downhill quickly with just a few dribbles and using her length to finish at the rim before the defense is set. Niamaya is also a zone buster, shooting at a high percentage off the catch. While she excels in fast-paced play, she's equally effective in half-court offense, showcasing a high basketball IQ—something many speedy players lack.   Niamaya knows how to cut into open spaces, forcing the defense to shift, either for her own scoring opportunities or to get her teammates open. Defensively, she does an excellent job staying in front of her matchup, remaining disciplined and not falling for fancy moves. She's also quick to get back in transition defense and is adept at blocking shots from behind.   Niamaya's transfer to Robinson High from Plant is a big deal, as her production will likely increase, and she's set to become a focal point of the system. Expect her to average double-digit points this season and solidify her place as one of the top players in the county.
