Middle Region: DII-A District 4 Outlook

Last year, we saw the Goodpasture Lady Cougars shoot up the charts. They put together an impressive run, losing in 3OTs in the championship game. They will be heavy favorites to return to the Final 4 as they have the majority of their returning starters. These girls have the experience, been battle tested, and are looking to recapture the magic that took them all the way to the finals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coaches feel Goodpasture will surely win the district. However, Nashville Christian and Ezell-Harding will be nipping at their heels. Both clubs have a solid inside and out attack. Guard play will be big-time in this district, but having bigs who finish will also be very important, which both clubs have that as well. CA and Davidson Academy will be neck and neck for that 4th and final spot in the top four. Call it a coin flip, but it could come down to the very end how that position unfolds.DCA, FCS, and MJCA will look to build a solid foundation as they look to change their fortunes. Though they aren't expected to knock off Goodpasture, they will be laying the groundwork on building towards the future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This district will be interesting for sure. The top 4 in this district match up well with the top 4 in District 3. I would say that the top two teams in this district have a good chance of being in one of the final 4 spots in the state. Look for this district to have kids whose stock will skyrocket as they put up big numbers this upcoming season.
