PGHNJ's Expo saw sixty girls representing the Classes of 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 come together under one roof in Wayne, NJ to compete in 3x3 and 5x5 events on Saturday. From future D1 prospects, to D2, D3 and even NAIA and JUCO level prospects, this event had a little bit of everything! The competition and atmosphere was incredible! Here is what I saw from Team 1:

Aliza Shulberg | #372

Off-the-charts energy and a good understanding of court positioning. She banged in a few in-your-face 3's from the wings as the morning and afternoon wore on. This was my first time ever seeing Aliza compete in person and I was more than satisfied! She knows her strengths and knows how dangerous she can be from deep. Her effort on defense didn't go unnoticed, either! She did a great job trying to make something shake on D, whether it was disrupting passes or just upping the pressure a notch.

Maiumi Quiros | #832

She had the hot hand today! From deep 3's to speedy rim-running, I loved how she kept her foot on the gas! A small 5'2" guard, she was quick going full steam ahead in transition and did a great job setting her sights on the basket. She showed off range by sinking a few 3's, shooting them with full confidence and a "Yeah, I know it's going in" mentality!

[player_tooltip player_id='414246' first='Emani' last='Resto'] | #836

Emani changes the dynamic of every game because of her ability to compete and her basketball IQ. Super strong takes to the rim and an aggressive scoring mentality; she got to the line quite a few times today. When she wasn't sinking smooth middys or attacking the lane, she was putting her court vision on full display and firing off passes for assists!

[player_tooltip player_id='601519' first='Annabel' last='Koss-DeFrank'] | #837

She's baaackkk!! Annabel really turned the heat up today and gave opponents a headache. She was tough inside and out, showing off nifty footwork around the rim and confident shooting from the perimeter. She made her presence felt on both ends of the floor, using every bit of her 5'10" to her advantage.

[player_tooltip player_id='601340' first='Sadie' last='Fleming'] | #858

Quite possibly the best rebounder at The Expo, Sadie pulled down critical boards on both ends with AUTHORITY! She was strong going back up with it and converting second-chance points for her team. Her tenacity in the low post was impressive, especially since she knows her strengths so well!

[player_tooltip player_id='414349' first='Bella' last='Curanovic'] | #917

Bella was one of the standouts of this event with her high-level of play. She was on-point all day, always ready for the pass and always looking to execute. She was dangerous from the mid-post with a strong face-up to the rim. Her athleticism was on full display the way she breezed past opponents and had her way on offense. She's a tough one to contain once she goes on a heater!
