PGHNJ's Expo saw sixty girls representing the Classes of 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 come together under one roof in Wayne, NJ to compete in 3×3 and 5×5 events on Saturday. From future D1 prospects, to D2, D3 and even NAIA and JUCO level prospects, this event had a little bit of everything! The competition and atmosphere was incredible! Here is what I saw from Team 5:

[player_tooltip player_id='982734' first='Jiselle' last='Lennon'] | #4

Jiselle put her two-way game on display Saturday! She was clutch from 3, needing little time to get off her shot from the wings. She wasn't just an outside shooter, however, unafraid to put in on the floor and take the defender off the bounce; fearless lefty takes! A scrappy defender, she kept her hands active and put pressure on inbound passes.

[player_tooltip player_id='959154' first='Nariah' last='Henderson'] | #812

One of Nariah's strongest skills is moving without the ball. She does such a great job curling around defenders and using her length to her advantage to catch (and convert) entry passes down low. Fluid mobility, very light on her feet. She fought for everything on the glass, absorbing a lot of contact and somehow still managing to come away with big boards!

[player_tooltip player_id='919624' first='Nawel' last='Lefebvre'] | #815

Nawel was one of the event's standouts, showing off a phenomenal inside-out game. Long, agile lefty who had her way in the paint and sped past opponents in transition, getting ahead of the pack to receive the pass and covert the layup. She had an incredible amount of o-boards on the day, some of which she put right back up for 2. She is primed to make an immediate impact in her freshman season. There's no doubt in my mind, after watching her for several hours, that this young lady is a future P5 player!

[player_tooltip player_id='1048700' first='Emma' last='Ryan'] | #818

She did a fantastic job creating from the mid-range and really showing off great efficiency. If she let it fly from 15-feet, it was money nearly every single time. She kept a tight handle and shielded the ball well to avoid turnovers and evade pressure D. It as easy to tell that she was in her element out there, looking comfortable and handling the ball with poise.

[player_tooltip player_id='1047234' first='Nadia' last='Mikalainis'] | #830

A dangerous threat from deep! She put herself in a position to score by working around the defense swiftly and getting to her spots around the arc. Zero hesitation in her shot selection; all she needed was a tiny ap of space to let one fly from long range. Tremendous burst of energy who really gave Team 5 a spark whenever they needed that extra push in transition or boost of confidence.

Isabelle Carson | #839

This was the first time I ever saw Isabelle play and boy was she impactful! She used her length to make big plays around the rim and rack up boards, crashing the glass without any fear whatsoever. Her ability to defend without racking up fouls was impressive, remaining vertical while protecting the basket. She showed defensive versatility and the ability to stretch out and defend the perimeter as well, using her long reach to pick off steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='871374' first='Sophie' last='Lane'] | #843

Sophie's dominance blew me away on Saturday! The way she skied in seemingly out of nowhere to grab rebounds was truly something! She may have just been the day's leading o-board collector, using her advantageous size to secure the board and at times, go right back up strong for 2. She showed an array of offensive firepower, including a "sick step-thru" move (exactly as I wrote it down in my notes)!

[player_tooltip player_id='651476' first='Avery' last='Barth'] | #854

Avery ran the point for this team with great attention to detail, always looking for cutting and slashing teammates, setting up her own shot and delivering well-timed entry feeds. Very pretty step-back 3 and excellent movement without the ball. She played with fire and intensity, with confidence pouring out! Playing with a pass-first mentality, Avery tallied quite a few assists as the day wore on.
