Grace Christian Academy Lady Lions: Ready To Roar!

There are two schools with the name Grace Christian Academy. One in Knoxville and one in Franklin. One is a ram and the other is a lion. Also interesting, both play in the DII-A district and both are on the upswing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Today, we are here to talk about the Grace Christian Academy Lady Lions based in Franklin,TN. They have a new lieutenant at the helm in Crystal Tinnon and she is ready to restore the roar back in Franklin. Bringing with her a balanced attack, these lady lions will be fundamentally sound and play tenacious defense. If they take on the identity of their coaching staff, they will be some hard nosed kids who are very detail oriented. Right now, these lions are lionets, but you better believe they will be raised to roar mighty way.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last year, the Lady Lions finished 14-9 overall and 6-6 in the district. They were senior led and fought every single game down to the wire. The kids played hard, executed well, and competed every single possession. However, this year there is a lot of new blood in the program. A record seven freshman will suit up for the Lady Lions ball club. Sure they may take their lumps this year, but they will gain valuable experience and lay a solid foundation for years to come. Expect the same out of this group as far as competition goes. They won't lay down. They will value each possession and compete until the final horn. It's a trend around Grace, compete until you have nothing left. This group will do that and the more court time they have, the better they will get.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The results may be subpar this upcoming season, but they will play a fun and ferocious brand of basketball. Don't think they will be a cake walk when competing against this bunch. They are going to fight and get better in every matchup. This kid plays with a lot of confidence and isn't shy from pulling it from anywhere.  A heady basketball player who competes from tip to the final whistle. Athletic, she is a menace on the defensive end. Reads and reacts well, she gets a lot of steals by jumping gaps from the helpside. Last year she had a tremendous year winning all district honors. A gym rat who has worked on her game tirelessly, this kid is poised to have a breakout year. A determined individual, this kid can score it from multiple spots on the floor. Blessed with size, she can play inside and out, stretch the floor, run point in transition, along with doing the dirty work on defense such as diving for loose balls, rebounds, and taking charges. A downhill threat who can shoot the 3, she is a solid two player that is a tough competitor. It's in her blood and she fights tooth and nail every possession. She can play on ball or off ball, but making the right play at the right time is what she does best. She is poise, reads the game well, and knows when to pick her spots to exploit. This kid has nice handles, poise under pressure, and can run an offense efficiently and effectively. She has a high basketball IQ and anticipates well, delivering timely passes to the hot hand. Has nice foot speed that enables her to play solid on ball defense and then sprint to help. A physical kid who will impose her will against opponents. Defensively, she is going to be physical and control the boards down low. Offensively, look for her to knock down clutch shots around the short corners and elbow areas. She's a solid option in the screen game. This kid grows daily every time she steps into the gym. Once she gets the hang of high school speed, look for her to come in and contribute right away.
