MWC Lady Cat Invitational Game 2 Nashville vs Parkview Recap

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Conway Lady Cats held their annual invitational tournament tip off last night and the start to the 24-25 season couldn't have been better! The Nashville Scrapperettes defeated Parkview 51-20, and the talent that hit the floor in that game was incredible to witness. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1186844' first='Angel' last='Watson']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1060836' first='Karstyn' last='Scrivner'] </strong>are hidden gems for Nashville and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1196043' first='Morgan' last='Crawford'] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1196039' first='Maelea' last='Hatch'] </strong>are the future for Parkview. Nashville got up to an early lead with an aggressive full court press that Parkview couldn't bounce back from. That means she's not shy. Her anxiety showed but what I saw was athleticism and a lot of quickness. She had great defense on veteran players for Parkview and can dribble quickly with the ball. Learning transient speed and how to react with her speed under control will eventually come. She will gain confidence as she grows, and hard work will prove this frosh a great in Arkansas girls' basketball. She has good form on her jumper and will sink some this year. Jordyn caused it and also got a few deflections on defense. Her quickness and reaction to ball are good and will only get better. Scrivner kept playing like they were behind and that shows a lot about the character in this one. She used her length on the press that disrupted the guards for Parview. She scored or rebounded on quite a few possessions for the Scrapperettes and also was diving on the floor for 50/50 balls. A special player that will have a great season this year. Scrivner finished with 13pts 10rebs and 5stls on the night. During the interview she was all smiles and was more than happy to offer her time. Morgan has a sizable wingspan that will grow as she does. With good reflexes on defense, she will be a "Monstar" to reckon with. She got a few blocks last night vs. Nashville and showed her size in the paint on offense as well. Standing at 5'6 she's tough and slashes the lane well. She shows next level potential with her dribbling and court awareness. Angel knocked down 3's in both halves of the game and had a host of breakaway layups on Parkview. She has a nice cross over and good ball control. I was glad to see her play off ball as well as with it in her hands to facilitate the offense. Afterwards a brief interview with her was icing on the cake for the junior guard.
