ND AA EDC Preview – Red River, West Fargo

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Red River</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Red River will look a lot different this season with the departure of the best player in program history, Jocelyn Schiller. Schiller, who was Ms. Basketball last season, was as good of a high school player as I have seen. Don't count out the Riders despite her absence this season. Coach Kent Ripplinger has done an excellent job building his program at all levels. His JV team from last season was outstanding and had to practice against a varsity squad that won the EDC Tournament Championship. Her role is going to be a lot different these next two seasons compared to her last three. I expect Ella to use her size effectively around the rim and become more of a scoring threat. She has nice touch around the rim and a good looking jump shot. Ella is also a very good rebounder and defender. Red River will rely on their defense to create easy offensive opportunities and look for Brenna to be a big part of that. Brenna, along with the other guards, are hungry to show that they can continue the success their team has had the last few years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>West Fargo</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>West Fargo returns a lot of players from the 2023-2024 season who gained valuable varsity experience. West Fargo also had successful sub-varsity teams last season. They will be hoping that success at the younger levels will translate to the varsity floor. She is a very good athlete who will be relied upon heavily on both sides of the floor. Ellee is an excellent three point shooter as well. She has a nice feel for the game and a strong desire to be great. Kiaya is a good on-ball defender and will continue to improve on that side of the floor. She appeared in many varsity games as well. Jada is a crafty lefty who can knock down the open 3. Last season she knocked down 4 three pointers in a varsity game down at an NDSCS jamboree. Jada will be a multi-year All-Conference selection going forward and have a chance to be a big time college prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Look for the Roughriders and Packers to have nice seasons. Both teams are looking for their 23-24 sub-varsity teams to bring their past success to the 24-25 varsity season. Coach Ripplinger and Coach Herder will have their teams prepared to compete each night.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
