<p>For the 2024-25 season for girls' high school basketball, the class of 2027 can now be regarded as sophomores. Even so, they are still underclassmen with room to grow. Both in the classroom and out on the court. </p>

<p>For some, they have already established themselves for their respective teams while others are still developing. Here are some notable 'newcomers' in the class of 2027 to get familiar with.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">In 27 gamaes played, Proffitt averaged 7.3 points -- on 44 percent -- with 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals as a freshman.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">In 2024-25, Proffit will be one of the key players for Roy/Mosquero. Due to her activity on both ends of the floor, Proffitt is able to maximize her minutes on the floor. Proffitt gives great effort and typically puts herself in a position to succeed. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">It was an impressive showing for Otero this past season as she averaged 7.4 points and 8.6 rebounds, albeit in 16 games played for Bosque. </p>

<p>That said, Otero is a viable Double-Double threat for the Bobcats who logged four in 2023-24.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Trejo appeared in 20 games this past season for the Panthers and led the team in assists, dishing out 1.2 per game. Trejo was also the second leading scorer, posting 4.6 points. Additionally Trejo averaged 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game contributing for Gadsden in multiple ways. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">With Gadsden losing five players to graduation, Rose is expected to have a bigger role in 2024-25. Rose has good length and if her touch improves, she can emerge as a reliable option for the Panthers. </p>
