2027 X-factors in the LA Metro

The sophomore class in the LA Metropolitan area features several players who have singlehandedly changed the outcome of games. They may not have the high rankings or notoriety, but opposing teams are surely taking notice. Their influence and game-changing ability is flat out special. These ladies will become household names in the near future!    Alaysha has led Moreno Valley to an impressive #22 ranking in all of California. She recently earned All-tournament recognition at the Nike Tournament of Champions Showcase in Arizona. Alaysha has the skill and length to play multiple positions on the floor. Seven games of 20+ points this year all resulted in victories except one. When Alaysha scores and rebounds at a high level, her team almost always wins. A standout performance (31 points on 13-19 shooting) against Oak Park in a close 59-54 win is the highlight of her season thus far. Despite her youth, Alaysha is the clear leader and #1 option. Moreno Valley has a chance to be competitive in every game regardless of the opposing team's ranking and record.     Hayden leads Lancaster in points, assists, and steals, and does so effortlessly. She is almost impossible to read as a penetrator and playmaker. Teams underestimate Hayden due to her size and are unable to contain her on both ends. 9 steals in a close victory (52-44) against Knight High School is a perfect example. Hayden's combination of quickness and anticipation allow her to dominate defensively for long stretches. She is a model of consistency, with only 1 single digit scoring performance thus far. Hayden is a tough cover and can will her team to victory by any means possible.     After an elite freshman season, Tess has been even more impressive in her sophomore campaign. Season averages of 19ppg, 11rbg, and 7bpg do not tell the full story. Chino's 8-2 record would not be a reality without the X-factor that is [player_tooltip player_id='1255402' first='Tess' last='Oldenburg']. There are times throughout the game when she is completely unstoppable as a scorer, rebounder, and paint protector. 21 blocks against Silverado high school showcased her potential when she is locked in defensively! Tess has been as consistent as they come offensively. Her shooting stroke is pure, with 21 made three pointers on the year and a solid FT percentage. Chino has a chance against anyone with Tess on their squad.     Riyanna is the leading scorer for 10-3 Rosary Academy. She plays with great pace, is always under control, and has a high basketball IQ. As a result, she is very unpredictable to guard. Riyanna combines her natural scoring ability with a great feel for the game to create for others. She can finish with either hand in transition and is a shot maker on the perimeter. Defensively, she reads passing lanes very well as the leader of their zone/press defense (almost 4 steals per game). Riyanna is truly an X-factor on both ends.     Tory is breaking out as the 2nd leading scorer for the Los Osos Grizzlies. She is team captain as a sophomore, which says a lot about her confidence and maturity. Her responsibilities increased tremendously this year, and she has stepped up to the plate. Tory is a sharpshooter who can score off-the-dribble and in catch-and-shoot situations. She already has six games of at least 4 made triples and can get hot in a hurry. Tory is a clutch performer, which has led to several tight-knit victories for Los Osos.
