Remy Berg, Fife High School

The Fife Trojans have been hot this season! Starting off the year 4-0, they're led by sophomore sensation Remy Berg. Remy's ball handling, court vision, understanding of angles, defensive prowl-ness, and ability to score at all three levels has proven to be a menace to her competition. Her competitive edge and Leadership Skills have risen the level of play of her Teammates. Berg is a Coaches dream player. She leads the Trojans in Scoring, assists, and Steals! Remy is a certified Stat-Sheet Stuffer! I look forward to watching her and the Fife Trojans pursue their undefeated season.

Sawyer Shaeffer, Olympia High School

The Olympia Bears have been playing some exciting basketball this season. There are a number of reasons why. One of the biggest contributing factors, Sawyer Shaeffer. Standing at 5'10 "(Big-Guard by H.S standards), her combination of size, dynamic ball handling skills, 3-level Scoring ability, ability to go both ways and finish with both hands, strength and athleticism, make her a tough cover. Not to forget, she has a shot that makes defenders always aware of her court location. On defense, Sawyer is a hound, as well! Never taking a play off and always in the right defensive position. If she continues to work on her game, her ceiling will be through the roof! I look forward to watching her and the Olympia Bears growth throughout the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='928024' first='Madison' last='Hughes'], Sumner High School

Sumner H.S has started the 2025 season 4-1, despite not having their Sophomore Sensation, [player_tooltip player_id='676260' first='Kawehi' last='Borden'] (Out the first four games with a leg Injury). Many girls stepped up to replace Borden's production. Namely, Senior Guard, [player_tooltip player_id='928024' first='Madison' last='Hughes']. Hughes is a 3-level scorer, a great passer and a strong defensive hand. She's no stranger to rebounding, diving on the floor for loose balls and hustling every play! Talk about "A Motor"! The combination of Madison's energy, along with her highly regarded Offensive and defensive skill-set, make her a definite candidate for Collegiate basketball next year! Despite Sumner's early loss to Lakeside (Seattle), you should expect to see Madison and the Sumner Spartans in the State Tourney this year!

[player_tooltip player_id='388789' first='Soraya' last='Ogaldez'], North Thurston High School

The North Thurston Rams faced off against the highly touted and Undefeated, Gig Harbor Tides, December 6th, 2024, at North Thurston H.S (Lacey). Olgaldez, outscored the Gig Harbor Tides in the half, by herself, scoring 19pts. The half time score was 40-6. Soraya ended the game, before it had a chance to get started. The combination of her 5'8" frame, strength, athletic ability and aggression, make her a very tough cover for opponents. Olgaldez is amazing in the open floor, not only creating for herself, but her teammates as well. Soraya is definitely one of the top scorers in the State Of Washington. "Straight to the Baja" as the younger generation would say! She's a bucket! We look forward to following Soraya, and her progress through-out the season.

Sophia McKay, Bonney Lake High School

On Dec 5th ,2024, Bonney Lake Panthers squared off at home, against the highly talented, undefeated Olympia Bears. This was one of Bonney Lake's biggest challenges to-date. The Bears lead the game from the 1st quarter through the 4th quarter, by as much as 8pts. Mckay was the clear difference maker. Sophia kept Bonney Lake in the game, by hitting 4 jump-shots; (3 -Three pointers as the shot clock expired) through-out the 2nd half. On a scale of 1-10, these shots were a 10 in difficulty. She hit shots fading away, with hands in her face and in traffic. At one point, it looked like lucky shots falling, but as she kept draining them, it was obvious, Sophia can flat out shoot-it!! Mckay is a Point-Guard who facilitates her team, as a scoring threat! Whether your hand is up or down, she knocks the shots down! I'm excited to see her game evolve as the season progresses.
