Friday at the Boardwalk Classic

The holiday break has delivered some awesome basketball down at the Shore! The Wildwoods Convention Center was rocking with action and the following players left their mark on the day:    Angie had her two-way game clicking against Central Bucks South (PA). She knocked down four deep 3's on her way to 16 points. On defense, she applied suffocating ball pressure and made life miserable for the opponent. Numerous deflection & steals helped ignite quick-hitting transition offense, where she thrives. She did a great job pushing the tempo and dictating play. A+ effort tonight.     She got in a groove early & stayed hot for the duration of the game, earning Game MVP honors in a 64-45 win over CBS (PA). McCracken was her usual scorching self from 3 & got particularly hot in the 2nd quarter during a stretch where she popped a long, followed by two deep 3's, all in a matter of 90 seconds. She also did a great job defending the perimeter; active hands on D made for a game-high 4 steals.     Haley dazzled w/ the ball in her hands. Very confident ball-handler who was able to create for her team & lead them to the 12-point win over Conestoga. Speedy guard who dashed pass defenders to evade high pressure D. She was able to break the press play after play. Impressive upper body strength for a small guard; was able to finish thru contact at the rim. The offense flowed through her the entire duration of the game. Committed defender; inbound pass disruptor.     Jennings was oozing w/ confidence today in Stoga's matchup w/ Central Bucks East. Strong ball-handler w/ high level execution. Crisp off-ball movement. Utilized screens well to create space & make smart decisions whether it was firing off a shot or a pass. Sweet stroke from 3 whether it was off the catch or stepping into a deep one. She was strong on the glass & got up for some big boards on both ends.     She did a solid job of getting past Barnegat's pressure D & generating some offense. She created her own shot off the dribble & was unafraid to penetrate & go up against their two bigs down low. She rolled off screens sharply & moved well both with & without the ball. Confident shooter who didn't let misses rattle her. Quick to set up in transition defense & scrappy fighting for 50/50 balls.     Emma was aggressive & imposed her will in & around the paint. She fought through the double (& sometimes triple-team) to muscle up shots in the low post & get to the FT line. Confident stepping out & popping from 10-15 feet. She showed off range just before halftime, knocking down a long 3pt basket just before the buzzer. Ran the floor well & at times, led the transition offense. Physical defender who shut off lanes; strong interior presence. Did a nice job defending inside & also stretching out to the perimeter. She crashed the boards hard & was relentless in her pursuit of the ball! Her versatility was on full display today.     Z was unstoppable interior presence against SDA. Rebounding force; strong on the offensive glass. I counted four o-boards in the 1st quarter alone! Assertive interior play; post-entry conversion. She was able to step out a few times & hit a sweet turnaround jumper from the elbow. Effective passing from the post; strong kick-outs to the perimeter. On defense, she made it really tough for SDA's guards to penetrate; long arms, solid defensive presence & shot-blocker. She was Barnegat's x-factor today in the win.
