The season is in full swing, and plenty of kids have played well as we inch closer to the holiday season. Let's highlight a few kids who deserve it this morning.

Emily Sewell

The junior guard sign of change at Grafton, Sewell has been either a starter or one of the first kids off the bench for the Blackhawks this season. Sewell is an undersized guard who plays at a million miles per hour, so she fits perfectly into a North Shore Conference filled with players like her. Her motor is unbelievable. Sewell is also constantly looking to make plays. Sometimes, the passes she attempts are too ambitious, but you can't be upset at Sewell and her teammates' mentality. They play for each other and want to move the ball, making Grafton a sleeper team in their sectional.

Toria Devoe

The poise that the Belleville native plays with is contagious. I watched her play a subpar game for her standards, but even when her Wildcats team was down double digits late, she made me feel like they still had a chance. She struggled most of the game but wound up with 20 points because she got to the free-throw line. Her ability to manufacture points when she's not at her best was eye-opening. I feel like I learned more about her game by watching her play at less than her best than if I watched her score 40.

[player_tooltip player_id='329595' first='Ella' last='Francois']

After an ACL injury robbed Francois of her junior season, she gets a chance to help West De Pere reach the promised land. She's always been a selfless kid, and even though she missed a season, Francois returned and never tried to force anything. Francois has an excellent feel for the game, which never left her. The athleticism is still there, and you can see her breakaway speed when she jumps a passing lane or earns a steal at the top of the key. Shots haven't fallen for her yet, but she's a threat to knock down perimeter jumpers at any moment.

[player_tooltip player_id='329591' first='Jade' last='Warren']

The Menomonee Falls native is one of the more athletic guards in the state and is among the top guards at getting to the rim. Some of the stuff she'll do athletically doesn't make any sense. Most of her offensive game revolves around her getting downhill, and when kids are making shots and have to stay home, Warren is the most dangerous version of herself. So, programs that traditionally have good shooters could utilize the best version of Warren. There are some things you can't teach, and the athleticism that Warren brings to the table is one of them.
