LOS LUNAS, N.M. — The Kirtland Central Broncos advance to 7-1 on the season with a eight-point victory Thursday night over Valencia.

A non-conference game between two of the top teams in the 4A Class that featured All-State talents on each side.

The Broncos, now 3-1 away from home, never trailed and were led by freshman small-forward [player_tooltip player_id='1068199' first='Allyson' last='Tsosie'] who had a game-high 20 points. Tsosie, erupted for 12 third-quarter points and was absolutely deadly off the bounce. Taking what the defense gave her, Tsosie connected on pull-up jumpers, runners off the glass and a three-pointer from the top of the key.

Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1058912' first='Elaina' last='Clani'] tallied 10 points and was the only Bronco player besides Tsosie to reach double-figures. The budding guard was able to score off the bounce thanks to a quick first step and array of dribble moves which often resulted in scoop-layups around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1221595' first='Krista' last='Tsingine-Yazzie'] chipped in with 9 points, doing most of her damage inside the paint-area. The junior forward has good footwork and patience, often going to a drop-step or shot going over her left-shoulder.

On the flip side, the Jaguars move to 5-2 at home and 7-4 overall. Despite never being ahead, and enduring a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, Valencia found success when they were decisive with the ball. Particularly when the rock entered the high-post area. Also when they were able to reverse the ball around the arc and not get trapped.

Shooting-guard [player_tooltip player_id='391108' first='Jadyn' last='Montoya'] had a team-high 14 points with 10 coming in the first half. The senior made a pair of three-pointers while also making pull-up jumpers when forced off the line. [player_tooltip player_id='648209' first='Jaiden' last='Montgomery'] logged a Double-Double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The lanky junior forward does a tremendous job battling in the interior and has an outstanding motor. Furthermore, Montgomery has improved her touch, especially out on the perimeter and when attacking the basket.
