Let's take a look at the 5 who've been the backbone of their respective clubs. They're not just filling up the stat book, they're also leading with energy and impact in subtle ways. Their offensive gravity is undeniable, they make plays regardless of what the defense throws at them, and they knit the defense together too. Tap in!

[player_tooltip player_id='645616' first='Nylah' last='Mitchell'], 5'10 W - Burlington H.S. Class of 2025

The do-it-all dynamo has been on a tear all year putting up between 20-30 any given night. Her relentless rim attacks result in plentiful buckets and FTs, blending her physicality with her footwork for dynamic interior scoring off of the drive in the halfcourt or in transition. The transition game manifests in different ways: she might snag a board and go, get in the passing lane for a steal, or run the floor off a teammate's forced turnover. Defensively she goes 2-5 and her motor never sputters. Maybe most importantly, she feels like the backbone of the early season favorite on both ends, both energetically and in terms of impact. A leader for POY.

[player_tooltip player_id='584222' first='Zoey' last='McNabb'], 5'8 G - Champlain Valley Union H.S. Class of 2026

The catalyst of CVU has been McNabb. She's their best offensive organizer, able to handle pressure and facilitate or create. Her 3-ball has been falling both off the bounce and the catch, she drives wild closeouts, and her passing hits teammates in their sweet spot, equaling good looks. Moreover, she's been someone whose sparked runs against tough opponents to draw CVU back into the game, with one considerable such showing against BHS. A pest defensively, she disrupts, she rotates, she rebounds, and then makes the basketball play. Floor general.

[player_tooltip player_id='481355' first='Charlotte' last='Jasmin'], 5'9 G - Hartford H.S. Class of 2026

Jasmin recently surpassed the 1,000-point mark on a 30-piece and it's not really a surprise. Her ability to score at each level off her own creation forces defenses to throw the kitchen sink at her. In turn, Jasmin distributes intuitively with her savvy court awareness. She's glue that organizes the O, creates opportunities off her tough handle and dynamic scoring touch, and then defends and rebounds at a high rate. Smart, aware, skilled, playing various positions and carrying the load.

[player_tooltip player_id='975815' first='Maysa' last='Long'], 5'11 F - Mount Mansfield Union H.S. Class of 2027

I've got Maysa as the best forward in the state. She's a rangy defender who owns the paint. Long has the anticipation inside to junk up drivers, deflect passes, and force offenses into perimeter play. Her rebounding is consistently in double figures, swallowing up everything that falls off the iron on either side of the floor. Not only that, but her scoring around the paint is all there. Maysa gets it done with sheer will at times, yet her footwork is all there and she's efficient with both hands off of post-ups too. An emerging star and daily double-double.

[player_tooltip player_id='645601' first='Sabine' last='Brueck'], 5'8 G - North Country Union H.S. Class of 2025

If you like pressure and transition, you like Sabine. Brueck can turn the game into a track meet with her speed and athleticism. She disrupts so much offense with her activity on the ball and in the passing lanes; while she isn't one to gamble, she certainly has the speed to recover when she does. Regardless, once she's in transition she taps into an extra gear, separates herself from the pack and finishes. In the halfcourt, she organizes NCU, punctures the paint and hits 3s off the catch. The best player on the best team in D2.

On the Cusp:

[player_tooltip player_id='645602' first='Cassidy' last='Kittredge'], 5'10 W - St. Johnsbury Academy

The sharpshooter is an integral part of this incredibly balanced St. J crew, a crew who just so happens to sit at the top of D1 rankings. Kittredge's ability to find space is uncanny; she's a savvy cutter, she uses screens and reads defenders coming off them wisely and understands rotations to always find a bit of space. She doesn't need much to get her shot off and she's efficiently putting up around 15 or so a night. Defensively, Cassidy plays a few different spots out of St. J's zone defenses, using her size and length to challenge interior activity, deflect passes and get out on corner shooters. Rangy, efficient, fundamental.

[player_tooltip player_id='645653' first='Atika' last='Haji'], 5'10 W - Burlington H.S. Class of 2025

The talent of Atika is quickly apparent. She's long, athletic, and a versatile scorer who finish knock it down from deep yet has a hankering for finishing at the rim. Haji's an adept slasher who creates well off the bounce, creates contact, and gets buckets + FTs. Moreover, BHS' dribble drive O and transition play offers up clean perimeter looks which she knocks down. Defensively, Atika can clamp down and take teams out of rhythm with her ball pressure, interior strength and rebounding. A versatile wing who goes 2-4; her ceiling is high.

Let's take a look at the 5 who've been the backbone of their respective clubs. They're not just filling up the stat book, they're also leading with energy and impact in subtle ways. Their offensive gravity is undeniable, they make plays regardless of what the defense throws at them, and they knit the defense together too. Tap in!
