Morrilton was looking to reach .500 in conference play and to come away with a win on their senior night.

Recap

Joe T. Robinson had trouble finding a good shot on offense. Their offense was stagnant, and Morrilton took advantage. The Devil Dogs forced several turnovers, keeping the Senators from setting up their offense. However, Morrilton's offense was not doing much better either. The first quarter ended with Morrilton up 7-0.

Robinson had a bit more success on offense in the second quarter. Tailynn Harrell knocked down a three to break the Senator's scoring drought, but they still could not do much to stop Morrilton from putting up points. The Devil Dogs remained in the lead heading into the locker room, up 18-6.

The second half was even better for Morrilton, as multiple Devil Dogs started to find their rhythm from beyond the arch. They commanded a 16-point lead heading into the fourth, continuing to force turnovers in the process.

The Lady Devil Dogs ultimately came away with the win on senior night, 44-22.

[player_tooltip player_id='1190789' first='Aubrey' last='Henderson'] was Morrilton's go-to player throughout last night's game. The Senators had a tough time trying to stop her and she had a great performance in her last home game as a Lady Devil Dog.

Henderson finished with a game-high 18 points, along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. She shot the ball well on the interior and at the charity stripe. She went 6/9 at the line.

Henderson showed some offensive versatility throughout the game, having the confidence to fire a 3-pointer and being able to step in and knock down a mid-range jumper. Henderson has a great spin move in the post, and she hit the defense with that move on two different occasions. The senior also pulled down 2 offensive rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1190789' first='Aubrey' last='Henderson'] had a solid performance against Robinson and with Districts coming up for Morrilton, she will need to carry over that same offensive output.

[player_tooltip player_id='1054320' first='Samya' last='Robins'] was the primary reason why Robinson could not hold on to the basketball.

The junior had 5 steals on the evening, along with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. She terrorized the Senators along the perimeter. No loose ball, pass, or sloppy handle was safe from Robins. She did not hesitate to take the ball the other way, hitting a teammate with an accurate pass on the fastbreak.

With Henderson doing to bulk of the work on offense, Robins was able to take a backseat. She did knock down 2 3-pointers off the catch and scored her other field goal inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1054320' first='Samya' last='Robins'] is one of the better defenders in the 4A-5 North, and she proved that to the home crowd last night.

Mckenzie Jackson- The 5'4" junior guard is Morrilton's sixth man, and she provided a much-needed spark. She posted 5 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. She knocked down a catch-and-shoot triple in the corner during the second half, showcasing a quick release and solid follow-through. She also handled the ball and facilitated well.

Trinity Everette- Everette did all of the little things that a team needs to win. She pulled down 5 rebounds, recorded 2 assists, picked up 1 steal, and put up 2 points. The Three Rivers CC softball commit defended extremely well, despite playing with a large brace on her leg. The senior's hustle and tough play was noticed by the home crowd in her last game as a Lady Devil Dog hooper.

Emily Gregory- The sophomore guard was quiet in the first half, missing both of her shot attempts. In the second half, however, she finally woke up. She had 7 points and 5 rebounds on the evening, with most of that production coming in the final two quarters. Gregory hit both of her 3-point attempts in the second half, helping stretch Morrilton's offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1093299' first='Coi' last='Bradley']- The senior guard recently committed to play basketball at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas. Though she did not have her greatest offensive output, she found ways to make an impact. Bradley put up 3 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Despite her size disadvantage, she found ways to crash the glass, pulling down boards over much taller Morrilton players. She played with more physicality than her opponents, which translated on the defensive end. The guard will bring toughness and hustle to Lyon College next season.

Tailynn Harrell- Harrell scored the first points of the game for Robinson off a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer. She finished with a team-high 6 points and 3 rebounds. Harrell was not finding the bottom of the bucket in several other offensive trips, but she did play aggressively, forcing her way to the free throw line multiple times.

[player_tooltip player_id='1196112' first='Kyah' last='Miller']- Robinson's senior post player was coming off a 13-point, 10-rebound performance in a season-sweeping win over Central Arkansas Christian on Friday. She did not have that same output, but she found a way to make an impact on the defensive end. Miller had 2 steals and 1 block, being active on that side of the ball for all four quarters. She also had 3 points, which all came from the free throw line.

Review

It was a rough game for Joe T. Robinson. Frankly, it has been a rough season for the Lady Senators. They will have one more regular season game at Clinton on Friday (weather permitting), but they have to find it pleasing that amid the masses of losses, a Lady Senator will have the opportunity to play college basketball.

For the Morrilton Lady Devil Dogs, the District Tournament is coming up, and they are looking to ride their now 3-game winning streak to earn a spot in the 4A state playoffs.
