Highlights from Tuesday Night Basketball Games

We are starting to inch closer to state tournament time. Slowly but surely teams are starting to dwindle down. There has been some teams who have caught fire here lately and are making a run towards going to their prospective state tournament sites (DII- Cookeville, D1- Murfreesboro).&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is that time of the year where you have to lock in. One mishap can be a big mistake that could put you in a bind. As I mentioned yesterday, games are tighter as each opponent knows the scouting report of the other teams. Some teams may throw a wrinkle in or two that might throw off the team who they are facing. Other than that, it's just a battle of execution and taking care of the ball each possession.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tuesday night saw some things shake out. A few teams went home in the DII division, while in the public school sector the next round was established. She displayed a quick first step, finished strong at the rim, knocked down open shots from the field, which put a dagger into the Lady Rockets comeback. Talk about someone whose trajectory is about to skyrocket, this young lady is going to be the next Lady Blaze guard who will go on to do big things. This school is known for guards and she is next in line to carry the torch. She's coming out of her shell and putting everyone on notice. The sharpshooting guard dropped 20 points on Jackson Christian as FRA advanced to the next round. Her teammates found her early and often as she was the hot hand. Normally, spotted up in the corner, the rim looked like the ocean as she just kept hitting from afar. She can pull up three, beat you off the dribble, step into shots if you're in a zone, and contribute on the defensive end. She changes speeds and mixes up her looks as she exploits whatever the other team's weaknesses are on both ends of the floor.She has had a great senior season and one that has helped the Lady Patriots accomplish things they haven't done in awhile. People at first wrote off this CAK squad, yet this young lady has just put her head down and grinded through her career. She's a tough ball player who can score it consistently from all three levels. Her team feeds off her energy and her contributions uplifts those around her. Teams have thrown different looks at her multiple times and all she has done is adjusted and exploited them. MB is climbing up the charts as her stock is heating up. It's tournament time and this is really when she comes alive even more. She finished in the book with 22 points, four rebounds, and seven assists. A selfless leader who is solid on both ends of the floor. She can do so much for her ball club it's crazy. She can exploit parts of the floor and take advantage of what's given. Create on her own, finish plays, shut down the opposition. Each and every night she is one of the top contributors to the CAK ball club. Her game has grown tremendously as this year has been her breakout year ever since this summer. She has capitalized on her opportunities and her stock is rising up the charts.
