Week 13 Recap: Rising Stars to Watch From Final Week

Postseason play may be right around the corner, however, we are still seeing strong performances as if we were in week 1 coming out of the gates. That's a testament to the mental fortitude of our student-athletes. This is a long season and our kids are still grinding.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As I mentioned before we are at the finish line of the regular season. Monday and Tuesday have kicked off a stellar week 13. She hasn't wasted a moment and has taken hold of this opportunity to see the floor early. This combo guard has been on a tear, lighting up the nets. She has posted up games where she has scored 40,39,37, and multiple 20-point games. This kid plays with tons of speed and can finish at the rim with ease.&nbsp; This kid is for real and she is off to a great start in her high school career. This sharpshooter dropped 22 points and held her follow-through high as they declawed the Lady Eagles. OC may not get a lot of praise, but she is solid and as consistent as they come. She does the little things that help add value to her ballclub. KM is one tough individual to stop especially around the blocks. Don't get me wrong she can do multiple things inside the arc such as work the high/ low game, screen game, and knock it down from the the short corner. When she is on the blocks, she is deadly. She dropped 20 points in her team's win over Grace. I told you last week this is the time when she comes alive. She thrives in moments like this. She has ice in her veins. She dropped 27 points with 5 three-pointers and grabbed 8 rebounds. And she had her opponent in a seatbelt. This kid is super tough and attacks the game like it's no one's business. Scored 16 in her club's win over Giles Co. She was getting it done from multiple spots on the floor. Add in her defensive prowess, this kid is a solid freshman who is an absolute stud. Take notes and keep an eye out for this kid.
