PGHNJ has just released its final rankings for the Senior Class and with so much movement comes a NEW-LOOK TOP 10! The 2024-2025 season was surely a spicy one with impressive performances from so many of the best players in the state! The following ten hoopers represent eight schools in Group 2, 3, 4 and Non-Public A & B state classifications. Let's dive in for a further look:

[player_tooltip player_id='333302' first='Mia' last='Pauldo'] | Morris Catholic

State Rank: #1 | Position Rank: #1

It's no surprise that Mia is the #1 player in the Class of 2025. The future Lady Vol led Morris Catholic in points, assists and steals while helping her team claim a Non-Public A title and an undefeated 28-0 record. She dazzled against some of the nation's top ranked teams in Mitty (CA), St. Frances (MD) & DME Academy (FL) while helping her own team ascend to the top of MaxPreps' rankings. She recorded two double-doubles, two 30-point games and nine 20-point games en-route to a season average of 18.6 ppg. A dawg on defense, Mia's two-way game clicked on all cylinders, snatching just over 3 cookies per contest. There was simply no one better. She will go down as one of the most decorated players, male or female, in NJ basketball history.

[player_tooltip player_id='333305' first='Mya' last='Pauldo'] | Morris Catholic

State Rank: #2 | Position Rank: #2

Where you see Mia, you can bet your bottom dollar you'll see Mya! She had the best season of her illustrious career in terms of production and leadership. She totaled a career-high 420 points (16.2 ppg) and saw seven games with at least 20 points, including a season-high 27 points in the playoffs vs DePaul. And while she was extraordinary all season, she really turned it up in the postseason and was this team's State Chip MVP (21 points, 5 rebounds). She averaged 20.8 ppg in four playoff games and recorded the first (and only) double-double of the season in the NJNPA quarters vs Paramus Catholic (22 points, 10 assists). This is exactly the type of turn-up Tennessee fans will witness down in Knoxville next season!

[player_tooltip player_id='591477' first='Gandy' last='Malou-Mamel'] | Gill St. Bernard's

State Rank: #3 | Position Rank: #1

Gandy recorded career-best numbers in points, rebounds and steals this season while leading GSB to the Somerset County Tourney Chip and a Finals appearance in NJNPB. She battled against some of the toughest teams on the East Coast such as Virginia Academy (VA), Morris Catholic (NJ), Dexter (MA), LuHi (NY) & Montclair Immaculate (NJ) while averaging a double-double at 17.1 ppg and 10.2 rpg. In fact, she recorded an incredible 18 double-doubles in 28 games this season! No one dominated the low post quite like Gandy this season. Next stop: Storrs, Connecticut.

[player_tooltip player_id='583758' first='Nila' last='Giraud'] | Montclair Immaculate

State Rank: #4 | Position Rank: #1

Nila didn't miss a beat after missing out on the first half of the season because of injury! Her second game back saw her drop 19 points against juggernaut LuHi (NY). The next game against NY power South Shore? Oh nothing, just a casual 18-point, 16-rebound double-double! In fact, some of the best performances of her senior campaign came against the toughest and most talented teams on the schedule! She tied a career-high 32 points against Saddle River Day in the playoffs (double-double with 12 boards). In 18 games, the UAlbany commit averaged 15.4 ppg and 10.8 rpg while helping ICHS claim State Chip glory in Non-Public B.

[player_tooltip player_id='333309' first='Daniella' last='Matus'] | Morris Catholic

State Rank: #5 | Position Rank: #3

Morris Catholic's "big 3" dominates the Senior Class rankings' Top 5, with Loyola commit [and sniper] [player_tooltip player_id='333309' first='Daniella' last='Matus'] coming in at #5. Having to sit out the first half of the season due to transfer rules, she began her senior campaign against Madison on January 14th and it was FOOT ON GAS BASKETBALL from there on out! She flexed her muscles on some of the best teams in the land, rattling in 16 points vs Archbishop Mitty (CA), 17 against George (PA) and 16 against perennial powerhouse Rutgers Prep (NJ). She averaged 12.4 ppg in Year 4 while sinking just over two 3's per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='583701' first='Francesca' last='Schiro'] | Hillsborough

State Rank: #6 | Position Rank: #4

Few players scored the ball like Francesca did this season (and really, all career long). She posted five double-doubles, five 30-point games (season-high 35 vs Moorestown) and thirteen 20-point games. These incredible efforts led the Raiders to the Group 4 State Chip and a 26-6 record, while catapulting her stock as she climbs 19 spots in this rankings update! She performed her best against some of the biggest and baddest on the menu, including a 30-point, 14-rebound explosion vs George (PA), a near triple-double vs Rutgers Prep (31 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists) and a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double in the State Final vs West Orange. She heads to Siena with all the confidence in the world!

[player_tooltip player_id='414424' first='Charlotte' last='Tuhy'] | Madison

State Rank: #7 | Position Rank: #1

One of the most prolific scorers in the state, Charlotte tallied a staggering 813 points this season while eclipsing 2,000 career points and finishing with 2,498. Equally as impressive, she crossed the 1K mark in rebounds, pulling down 294 boards to bring her career total to 1,147. Her monumental efforts helped Madison make a Group 2 State Final appearance and compile a 25-6 record. She imposed her will against some truly talented teams, recording fifteen double-doubles (including three consecutive in the playoffs), nine 30-point games and a season-best 41 vs Montville. She brings her versatile, Swiss-Army knife-like game to American U this Fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='782573' first='Anaya' last='Karriem'] | West Orange

State Rank: #8 | Position Rank: #2

AK had a breakout in Year 4, joining the 1K Club in points and rebounds! Her stock rose dramatically as the season progressed, boosting her ranking fifteen spots to land in the Top 10. Her dominance in and around the paint saw her post three triple-doubles and average a double-double at 15.1 ppg and 12.3 ppg. She recorded a ridiculous stat-line of 21 points and 31 rebounds (career-high) against Montclair Immaculate and a season-high 24 points vs Newark Academy. She willed W.O. to impressive dubs which ultimately landed them in the Group 4 State Final where she went off for 23 points and 16 rebounds in a loss to Hillsborough. North Carolina A&T is getting a DAWG!

[player_tooltip player_id='414234' first='Azanah' last='Campbell'] | Paul VI

State Rank: #9 | Position Rank: #2

Paul VI played one heck of a difficult schedule this season and Azanah proved that she thrives when the stakes are the highest. She had a huge season, recording personal bests in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals. In other words, every statistical category across the board! With season averages of 12.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.8 apg and 1.4 spg, she played a crucial role in landing Paul VI in the Non-Public A State Final vs Morris Catholic, their lone loss on the season! She put in work against some of NJ's finest teams, dropping 18 points on SJV, 17 points against SRD and 13 points in the NPA Chip vs the Crusaders. Azanah ascends 8 spots and catapults into the Top 10 of this final rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id='878692' first='Akeelah' last='Lafleur'] | Westampton Tech

State Rank: #10 | Position Rank: #2

The triple-double queen of the Garden State, Akeelah recorded five of them in her senior campaign. But wait, there's more! The 6'3" dominant post put up a monster 27-point, 20-rebound game vs Cherry Hill East, a career-high 33 points vs Northern Burlington and impressive season averages of 18.5 ppg, 12.2 rpg, 1.2 apg, 6.7 bpg and 1.8 spg. There wasn't a better rim protector in NJ the past four months and she showed out against some really good competition: 11 blocks vs Thrive Charter, 8 blocks vs Lenape and a career-high 17 blocks vs Cinnaminson; state-leader in blocked shots with 188. Her production led WT to one of their best seasons to date, which included a semifinal appearance in CJG3 and a 23-6 record.
