We wrapped up the 2024-2025 season with an 11-11 record, finishing 5th in our District. This years team was a nice balance of multiple grades being able to contribute. We had 1 senior, 3 juniors, 2 sophomores, 2 eighth graders, and 2 seventh graders that were on the Varsity team. We are really excited about our future within District 6 and Region 3. This past season was a great opportunity for our new squad to grow. We knew going into the year we would be a brand new look compared to last years team. So we really had the mindset of, lets get out there and compete, develop as a team and continue to carry that growth into next season. Losing only one senior, Hallie Matehs, puts us in a situation where we should be able to pick up where we left off. Hallie had a nice career as a Panther. She was a program player that did all the little things and modeled those behaviors for our team day in day out. We will miss her leadership in those roles.

Reflecting on this past season, we felt we could've won more games than we did. We played with 2 of the top 4 teams in the state, but just couldn't get over the hump of beating those really good teams. Playing at a high level for all four quarters was a struggle for us. We could come out and battle teams for three, but then drop off and not get it going again. We know that has to be a change next season if we want to be special. The girls felt each one of our losses and took them personal because they understood how close they were to getting it done. I think those feelings of unsatisfaction are going to drive them to the work and progress we need to achieve by next winter.

Our squads over the years have really developed a culture of respect for the program. The girls are all bought in to the idea of being a unit. They might not all be the best of friends, but they have done an impeccable job of keeping negative drama from affecting our overall team. With that type of Energy, we can usually have a lot of fun and at the same time, get after one another. They support each others accomplishments and are there and understanding in the lows.

As for our individual breakdowns, we are anticipating a lot of growth from each player for next season. Our seniors: Emma Jones, Aubrie Quick, and Lakelyn Pletcher are all understanding of their roles. Aubrie Quick has added a lot to her game each season and we really look to her to be someone that can attack the rim. One of her goals this off season is to add some depth to her shooting and be able to pull the trigger from outside too. She is also one of our better defenders and we need her to continue to gain strength and quickness to lock kids up. Lakelyn's role for us is to be able to come in and knock down shots when she gets her opportunities. She can be a great shooter sometimes and give us that threat from the outside, we just need to get consistency. It will be [player_tooltip player_id='493728' first='Emma' last='Jones'] 6th season playing varsity next year and we are going to take full advantage of her experience and all she brings to the table. Emma is that special player that can naturally hoop. Not to say she hasn't put the time in, but she is an athlete. I'd love to see her continue to develop her game into the next level. She needs to continue to stretch her shot depth to reach a higher percentage, improve her ball handling, and finish at the rim when she has her opportunities. She is a top defender as well. Whether she's creating ball pressure within our zones and getting steals or matched up with one of the best players from the other team, she creates stops through deflections, blocked shots, and rebounds. She passed 2 big milestones this season with 1,500 career points and 1,000 rebounds. She is a big factor for us. Our 2 juniors, Ava Stevens and Evie Pletcher will bring a lot of experience into next season. Ava is our true post player that has some nice length to her. She creates some tough looks in the lane defensively. We need her to become a much bigger presence down low next season. She will have the opportunities to go to work on the block and if she can add that to our scoring totals, that will be huge. Evie has run the PG for us the last 2 seasons and has shown growth in her knowledge of what everyone should be doing when and where. She can be a good outside shot, but we need more consistency from that. Another aspect of her game that needs to come out is her ability to attack the rim. She can create more looks for us by getting down hill and playing off of two feet. And as a junior this next season, we need her decision making to be operating at a high level. If she can continue to improve that, our whole flow gets way easier. We are really excited about our upcoming underclassmen. Mila Jones, a 7th grader this past season, was on the floor a bunch for us. She will be another exciting and strong player as she continues to develop. Ryleigh Miller, an 8th grader, started to earn some minutes towards the end of the season. She's a player that has the ‘desire'. She has a motor and wants to do it all. A Gamer. Etionna Hymel was our other 8th grader on the bench. She has the work ethic and IQ to be at that level and were excited to see her skills continue to improve. Willa Stevens, a 7th grader, will have the ability to contribute next season as well. She has one of the purest shots on our team and we will need her to be able to take shots when she has opportunities. With all these kids, we really feel and believe we can give ourselves the opportunity to make a run.

Overall, we aren't satisfied with how this season ended up, but we understand the growth we are going through. These kids set big goals for themselves and have the minds and abilities to achieve them. Us coaches feel privileged to be a part of our program with these girls every year. We love the opportunity and are fortunate to be a part of these girl's lives.
