This year much like last year the best player in 5A was [player_tooltip player_id='788162' first='Taylor' last='Harvey']. The two sport athlete was phenomenal. A player that can play every position at her height is just the difference maker at all times. Her shot blocking, her ball handling and scoring was just the difference maker.

Historical 4 Years

Harvey in 4 years has a 91-10 record and led the team in scoring all 4 years in high school. Bountiful played in 4 state championships in that time and was able to 3 peat the last 3 years. Harvey was able to rack up 1600+ points in her career and she had over 170 blocks as well. Her ability to dominate in the air rebounding and finishing as well as blocking shots made it difficult for teams to adjust to that athleticism. With over 500 rebounds and almost 200 assist she will go down as one of the best players to come through Utah. Bountiful never lost a region game during her tenure at Bountiful.

D1 Athlete

Harvey is obviously and athlete and being highly recruited in volleyball Harvey will make her debut at the college level at The University of Texas on the volleyball court. If she wanted to play D1 basketball she would also have many choices and suitors. Harvey has great timing and an explosive swing. Her jumping ability is very elite and her second jump is quick and explosive as well. This is why she would block a lot of shots on the basketball floor.

What She Would've Brought to the Basketball Court

Harvey would've been an ideal 3 that has length and can cover a lot of ground. Harvey can play on both ends of the floor so seeing her get minutes as a freshman would be actually realistic. Her defending ability would've also been elite because she is quick and moves well laterally. She never really played grassroots basketball and that would've elevated her game even more. She could've been a grab and go player that has the handle to push the ball and initiate the offense. She could have been great inside and out and her athleticism would have been on display with her crashing the boards.
