The afternoon session of the 5A Great 8 showcased players who stepped up in big moments for their teams. Whether it was scoring, facilitating, or making defensive plays, these standouts found ways to impact the game. As the competition heats up, their contributions will continue to be crucial in their teams' success. Here's a look at five players who left their mark in the afternoon session.

Ramah's impact in the post have been a major factor in Air Academy's success this season. In their Great 8 matchup against Durango, she got good position inside, leading to great scoring opportunities at the rim. Her defensive presence was just as important, she applied pressure on the perimeter, creating steals and deflections. Ramah's versatility on both ends played a key role in Air Academy's dominant performance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1212147' first='Ellie' last='White'] did everything she could to carry Durango's offense in their matchup. The senior forward battled in the post, working hard to create scoring opportunities for herself. Whether it was finishing through contact or on second-chance points, she found ways to keep Durango competitive throughout the game. Her aggressive approach on the offensive end gave her team a chance in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1212201' first='Gabby' last='Gates'] was the glue that held Windsor's backcourt together in the Great 8. She played with pace, keeping control of the offense while making sure her teammates were in the right spots. Her court awareness allowed her to move the ball effectively, setting up teammates for good looks. When the defense was slow to recover, Gabby also took advantage by scoring in transition.

Mary Jane's minutes off the bench proved to be a difference-maker for Mullen. Offensively, she made smart decisions, picking her spots and taking advantage of the gaps in the defense. Her length and athleticism gave Mullen flexibility on defense, allowing them to switch on screens. Her ability to defend multiple positions and contribute offensively helped Mullen gain an edge.

[player_tooltip player_id='470963' first='Chloe' last='Pelster'] provided Mullen with perimeter shooting and defensive intensity. She knocked down shots from beyond the arc, spacing the floor and forcing defenders to account for her at all times. Her active hands on defense led to timely stops , she also made smart reads when attacking the basket. Chloe's ability to impact the game in multiple ways was huge in Mullen's win.
