The 2028 class continues to reveal young talent ready to make an impact in the paint. These five girls have shown they can hold their own on both ends of the floor, whether it's altering shots, dominating the boards, or finishing through contact. While each brings their own unique skill set to the table, what they all have in common is a strong presence inside and the ability to influence the game physically. Here's a breakdown of five rising post players who are beginning to separate themselves from the pack.

lthough [player_tooltip player_id='903338' first='Aven' last='Sowder'] didn't see much time this past season when she did get on the floor she looked confident.. Offensively, she can play in the post and finish through contact at the rim, she is also able to hold her own on the glass. Defensively, she is a game changer with her ability to help off the ball and alter shots against smaller guards. Her timing and willingness to defend make her an important piece inside.

Izzy led all freshmen in scoring this past season, with most of her damage being in the paint. She scored through offensive rebounds, finishing at the rim, and with her back-to-the-basket moves. Defensively, she plays with a high motor, not giving up anything at the rim while also being in the passing lanes. Her combination of scoring and defensive presence makes her one of the most well-rounded post threats..

Tatum isn't the traditional post player, but the way she impacts the paint doesn't. Her constant energy and motor allow her to disrupt opposing bigs and keep plays alive. She has the size and length to defend bigger players while being able to move on the perimeter. Offensively, she finishes through contact with either hand and is a smart passer from the high post, helping get teammates involved.

[player_tooltip player_id='968062' first='Mercedes' last='Gerry'] has really come into her own over the past couple of months, growing in multiple areas. She's a defender who can guard differentl positions, making her an asset to the team. In transition, she runs the floor hard and gets herself into great spots for easy finishes. Her half-court game is also improving, as she becomes more active without the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='792717' first='Molly' last='Gaffney'] plays with a lot of energy that's unmatchable. Defensively, she's always in passing lanes, forcing turnovers, and rebounding the ball. On the offensive side, she gets easy baskets by finishing around the rim or knocking down open shots. Her play gives her team spark when she's in the game.
