Today, we wrap up the Legacy Region Kick-Off. I'd like to highlight a few more players before we move on to a brief live period preview to prepare for the April Live Period at the end of the month.

Ellie Johnson

The 5'10 Blaine, Minnesota, native is an inside-out threat. Johnson can be a physical around the basket with her physical tools and as a screen setter. However, I thought she did an excellent job spacing the floor for her guards who wanted to get downhill and attack the basket. Johnson also knocked down a few perimeter shots that kept her defenders close to her throughout the day. There should be some small schools that could utilize her skillset at the next level, and I thought she looked solid.

[player_tooltip player_id='855854' first='Morgan' last='Martinez']

I talked about Martinez last weekend, but she's one of my favorite players in the 2028 class. Her motor is excellent, and watching her attack the glass and rise over a crowd of people for the ball is entertaining. How Martinez works for extra possessions for her team makes her team better and leads to more success at either the high school or AAU level. She may never be a threat to score 30 in a game, but anyone who coaches her at any level will appreciate what she does in her minutes.

[player_tooltip player_id='914989' first='Claudia' last='Jenny']

Leadership qualities have been there for the Edgerton guard since I've known her. I'm sure they've been there long before that. No matter what she does on the floor, she has the qualities of a coach as a sophomore in high school. However, Jenny is also a skilled guard who reads the game well. She's an excellent shooter and is a threat to knock shots down whenever she finds room to get a shot up. Jenny's a skilled pick-and-roll ball handler and communicates well with her teammates. Anywhere the Edgerton native goes, she'll raise the floor and ceiling of any offense she plays in because she understands how everything's supposed to work. She has one of the highest basketball IQs in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='533073' first='Izabel' last='Durst']

Few kids were as explosive off the dribble this past weekend as [player_tooltip player_id='533073' first='Izabel' last='Durst']. The Barneveld native was the one her [program_tooltip program_id='1230720' first='Team' last='Herro'] team asked to attack the rim when they needed a good look at the basket, and she delivered more often than not. Her speed at the point of attack can create advantages in numerous ways, and she can score from all three levels. She's a scholarship-level talent and will be a productive player at the next level, no matter where she lands.
