The beginning of April is a great transitional time for many girls going from high school into AAU. Some are taking small breaks as their bodies are recuperating and others are sprinting straight into action with games already. Either way early Spring presents some interesting talent to be mindful of. Below are of the current hidden gems.

Erin fits is a 3&D type of player that's proving to be a reliable option on the perimeter as time goes on. On both sides of the ball, she gives her full effort. She isn't a player that dominates the ball and also slides to the off-ball position pretty seamlessly. What makes Reilly such an intriguing watch is her defensive ability though. She can be sent to disrupt some of the better offensive initiators and also has a knack for staying attached to ballhandlers without fouling. She has very quick feet which help her keep pace with just about anyone. Pay attention to Erin's progression over the next few months, she can such a rousing player.

With a recent reclass into '28, Regan is becoming a can't miss prospect. Even as a member of the '27 class this year though, her game was undeniably and admittedly a bit underrated. It's hard to tell the story or capture her sheer impact on the game. Stephanie can play on or off the ball in various roles, but no matter what her confidence is supreme. The swagger is exuberant and her assertiveness gives her teammates relief in those competitive matchups. Her teammates know they can rely on Stephanie at any point. This is a player that the offense can be predicated around. Certainty a premier attacker with sly ball control that knows exactly how to get to her preferred spots no matter the quality of defender. What's even more special about her is she gets quality shots around the paint and from 3 while remaining efficient.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217924' first='Jarelise' last='Torres'] (2028) | Proctor CG | Proctor

Jarelise is a player with quite the high celling. Her long-range shooting ability make her incredibly dangerous. Not many players are hitting 7 3-pointers in a game, but Torres made it look easy. Her confidence will come from finding a quick rhythm within the flow of the game. However, she has a tendency to get going in an instant and once she's found her groove, look out. Her shooting can drown opponents out quickly. They come in succussion and she's relentless. After each 3, Torres is hitting her Jalen Brunson celebration as she struts back on defense. Since Jarelise understands how put the ball in the basket, she makes an underrated defender as well. The '28 guard understands the mind of a scorer. She's respectable against a lot of primary ballhandlers, being cognizant of how to recover from pick& roll coverage as well as giving effort towards stopping the person in front of her in isolation matchups. The #27 ranked player in '28 is a player that's indeed a hidden gem with the potential to climb even higher.

[player_tooltip player_id='1215616' first='Phoebe' last='Carroll'] (2026) | 5'9 Forward | Hopedale

This January, Pheobe joined her mom in the record books as a 1000-point scorer. She's been a trusted asset for her team for years and provides reliability on both sides of the ball. The versatile forward understands her areas on the floor while utilizing her frame to consistently put her in the best position to score. Carroll gets to the line pretty well and this helps when the game needs to slow down. The defense has yet to mentioned either. She's quite versatile, showing the capacity to guard at least 3 different positions stably. Phoebe recognizes when to be physical down low and also when to provide the help for teammates in a pinch. The '26 forward is a top 10 player at her position. She's a terrific watch within the class.

Presley is a considerable talent that can offer a ton from the perimeter. Her shooting ability makes her a reliable outlet option for lane penetrators and that steadfastness from distance, particularly from the corners allows her to be so imposing. Foster also provides crafty drives off the bounce in the halfcourt that can be absolutely deflating for help defenders stepping up. Another positive aspect of her game is that she's played with tons of incredible talent her whole career. She's been able to understand how to play alongside other valuable players that can dominate the game and remain effective in company with them. Foster just doesn't get in the way of any playstyle. The harmonious traits she brings to any lineup can't be overlooked.
