I was able to check out a couple 12U games this past weekend, as well on BallerTV earlier this week, and it's not hard to say that even though their best years are way ahead of them, some of these youngins showed some serious potential. Here are 5 players from the 12U division that stood out to me.

Mckenzie Mcgleam (Breakaway 12U Red) - McGleam is poised to have a strong basketball career. This kid is simply talented, regardless of her age. She dribbles with both hands, keeps her head up, plays on balance.. the future is bright. She also can knock down the long ball, as well as make plays for her teammates, who clearly trust her to run the show.

Tory Guigliuzza (LW Xplosion) -If you're Illinois based then the last name Guigliuzza isn't new to you. The family has two older daughters who were very good high school players, and even better college players. However, Tory might just be the best one, and she's not even near an age where basketball is highly competitive. From the handles to the understanding of flow and patience, this kid has a sharp skillset for being so young. The behind the back snap back crossover to her right hand is her go to, and it put a decent amount of defenders in a daze. She probes around the court finding the best option, and it usually ends with an assist or an easy bucket. HIGH potential.

#10 ([program_tooltip program_id='834910' first='Example' last='Sports'] 2031) - At such a young age, there is already a strong amount of understanding of this game. She has great length and moves well without the ball. Defensively is where she shined in the game that I watched. She stays disciplined, moves well when she's on help side, and knows when to gamble on a steal. From a scoring standpoint, she showed confidence on the drive and at the free throw line.

Harlow Frederick (Iowa Ice 12U) - The defensive stance stood out to me right away, and the fact that she knows how to use her feet and hands as one when defending guards lets me know that this is something she works on. I see this kid being a defensive nightmare for opponents in the future.

Reece Luhman (Lexington Crossover UA Rise 2031) - Reece is one of those kids that every young team needs on their program. She has a strong frame at a young age, and she knows how to use it. She can either back you down or grab the board and go right back up with no issue. She also made some big plays on the defensive end as well.
