Phee Elite Classic Sunday Standouts

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri returned to Principia on Sunday to catch a few more games at the Phee Elite Classic. Here is a look at a few players who caught our attention on Sunday.    The 5'10" 2028 shooting guard is playing a year up with the 16U Phee Elite squad; and does with she normally does when she steps on the court. That's getting buckets. She was getting into the lane on the regular and finishing in traffic at an excellent clip. She can take the contact and score at a variety of angles. She plays at her own speed, but she is able to score with her handles and extensive bag. She can also drop some nice dimes when she draws an extra defender towards her. With her positional size, she can also score in the post or get offensive rebounds for putbacks.     A 5'3" 2027 scoring point for the Stingers who had a big game in their victory over Phee Elite on Sunday afternoon. When two of her teammates were lost to injury, she picked up the scoring load with some big 3-pointers late in the game. She is an excellent shot-creator with a nice offensive bag. She runs the pick and roll well and she can also break down a defender to create her own shot. Her shooting range extends well beyond the 3-point line. She also moves well without the ball to the open spots.     The 5'8" 2028 point combo guard had one of the best motors of any player that I watched during the two days of the event. If there was loose ball to be had, she got to it, whether she was in close proximity to the ball or not. She was diving and sliding on the floor to get that extra possession for her team. She was playing up with the 17U and was an impact player with her playmaking ability as a passer and ball handler. The young lefty was getting downhill on the drive to score and also making pinpoint passes to open teammates. Her strong motor also led to such very active play on the defensive end as well.     The 5'8" 2027 point guard had an impressive game on Sunday morning at both ends of the court. She has good height and length, which enables her to be disruptive on the defensive end in the passing lanes. She has good court vision and ball handling ability. She distributes the ball very well and she was touching the paint with her dribble penetration. She plays off the ball very well with her ability to knock down open 3-pointers off the catch.     A 5'3" 2027 point guard who has enjoying an excellent weekend before injuring her foot on Sunday afternoon. She is quick and she plays with with a lot of poise and moxie. She is an excellent on-ball defender who slides her feet and harasses ball handlers. She distributes the ball well and she can shoot it from 3-point range. She also penetrates well in the lane and makes good decisions with the ball.     A 6'0" 2027 forward who broke loose in the second half of the game that I watched in the morning. She was really stretching the defense as she knocked down multiple 3-pointers off the catch. She is also very effective inside where she can use her height to score around the basket. She can also pass it very well from the high post area.
