There were plenty of fresh faces to be found at the AAU Saturday Shootout in Chanhassen – we published an article featuring some of those names on Tuesday. The Shootout also gave us the opportunity to catch up with many more familiar players in hopes of finding a handful who have considerably raised their game in recent months. Here are a few athletes who gave early glimpses to what could be a breakout year.

[player_tooltip player_id='502550' first='Mia' last='Banks'] – 2026 Guard/Forward, Rochester Mayo

The [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] 17U EYCL guard has seen consistent growth in her game over the past few seasons. The numerous hours she's put in have prepared her for what looks to be a formidable final AAU season. On Saturday we saw Banks give a true hard-hat performance, just as we've seen many times before. The 5'10 junior showed off her willingness to fight for loose balls, defend with grit, and make all kinds of impact for her team. On several possessions we saw Mia's aggressiveness play out as she jumped the passing lanes, coming up with a steal and giving her team the opportunity to score in transition. While the score quickly got out of hand in the other team's favor, Banks gave her full effort and kept her composure until the final buzzer.

[player_tooltip player_id='889671' first='Nesa' last='Namjoshi'] – 2027 Guard, Eden Prairie

The [program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] 2027 S40 guard made a big splash at the Saturday Shootout, showing just how much her game has grown in recent months. Namjoshi stood out on both ends of the floor, giving a complete performance in each game. The 5'7 sophomore used her tenacity and quickness to force costly turnovers on the defensive end. On one possession we watched her pick up a steal, go coast-to-coast and finish with a Euro-step through multiple defenders in transition. Nesa led all scorers in the 2027 division on Saturday, putting up 27 points across two games, including five made shots from beyond-the-arc. Having patiently waited her turn for a chance in the limelight on her high school squad, Namjoshi appears poised for a breakout summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='648052' first='Leah' last='Carter'] – 2026 Forward, Westbrook-Walnut Grove

When we last checked in with the [program_tooltip program_id='1229871' first='Southwest' last='Fury'] post, her game was pure potential. Standing at 6-foot-1, Carter possesses a large, muscular frame and a ton of strength. She's light on her feet, gets up and down the court with ease, and her work ethic is evidenced by her high energy style of play. None of those things have changed. Her skill level, however, has gone up considerably. During Saturday's festivities Leah dominated the field, particularly on the offensive end, where she led her team in scoring in both contests. The Westbrook-Walnut Grove junior can score down low with ease (she has great touch around the rim) and even knock down shots from beyond the arc. Carter also showed off her proficiency in rebounding, out-muscling her opponents for boards. College coaches in search of an athletic forward with a high motor should be sure to add Leah to their watchlist.

[player_tooltip player_id='1145715' first='Neveah' last='Weimert'] – 2026 Guard, Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton

This 5'7 guard of [program_tooltip program_id='774605' first='Southern' last='MN Fury'] 2026 is lightning quick, has light feet, and plenty of bounce in her step. Weimert is shifty with the basketball and can create offense in numerous ways, whether through facilitating to her teammates or scoring the ball herself. She has a quick release to her shot and can knock down the three-ball with ease. On Saturday, Nevaeh showed off her passing abilities, as well as her skill on the defensive end. Her quickness, tenacity, and length give her a leg up when guarding the ball on the perimeter. Weimert had a standout season this past winter, averaging just over 12 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game for Janesville-Waldorf Pemberton. She earned All Gopher Conference honors.

A couple of unsigned 2026s to see

[player_tooltip player_id='362575' first='Callie' last='Oakland'] – 2026 Forward, St.Croix Lutheran & [player_tooltip player_id='351665' first='Vienna' last='Murray'] – 2026 Guard, East Ridge

Both Oakland and Murray of [program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] 2026 UAA had standout junior seasons at their respective schools. Both players led their teams offensively, Vienna averaging over 17 points per game and Callie averaging just over 19 points and 16 rebounds a contest. We saw those same numbers translate to the Saturday Shootout.

Oakland is a 6'1 power forward out of St. Croix Lutheran Academy in West St. Paul. Her game is full of power and grit, she's a tremendous rebounder and a multi-level scorer. As a top 15 prospect in the Class of 2026, Callie is a Division 1 prospect any day of the week. Murray, a 6'1 shooting guard from East Ridge High School, saw her recruiting skyrocket last summer during AAU, earning more and more offers as the season progressed. Possessing elite athleticism, plenty of height and length, and a tremendous skill set, we'd say Vienna's game deserves every bit of the hype. As they embark on their final lap of the AAU circuit, expect these two to make some more noise in their recruitment.
