The Champions Challenge begins tonight. Yesterday, I highlighted some kids for programs to see at the event, and I'll add some names I'd like to see this weekend if I have time.

[player_tooltip player_id='885270' first='Aubri' last='Elmore']

The Lake Country Lutheran guard is a talented member of the 2028 class. Elmore handles the ball well and has had success with her T.R.U.T.H group these past few years. Her ability to attack off the dribble opens up her game as much as anything. Whenever Elmore gets downhill and puts pressure on them, she can get to every aspect of her game. It forced defenders to give her space on the perimeter so she could shoot, or when she does get downhill, she can fire passes to teammates or get to her floater game.

[player_tooltip player_id='992515' first='Sydney' last='Loerke']

The Deerfield forward is among the more talented kids in the 2028 class around Wisconsin. She's a physical and sizeable kid with a versatile skill set. She can score inside and out and has excellent footwork around the basket. She's not from a basketball-rich area, but she'll be a kid who will draw significant attention before her high school career ends. You don't find kids of her size and skill around the rim. I loved her when I saw her this past high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id='889690' first='Mylee' last='Redman']

The Laconia guard is a kid who people are excited about in Rosendale. The 2028 guard excelled on the Spartans JV team last season and would earn some minutes at the end of games that were over. I haven't seen Redman play much against kids at her level. However, I'll see her with her [program_tooltip program_id='713038' first='Wisconsin' last='Blaze'] team, which I've been eager to see for months because she'll get to test herself against more talented kids than she sees in the Flyway Conference.

Ronnyia Murphy

Murphy's defensive tools are absurd, and I've loved watching her on that end of the floor for some time. The Verona guard didn't earn much time with the Wildcats last season. However, her defensive abilities will get her on the floor eventually, and when she does, she'll make a significant impact for the Wildcats in the Big Eight. In New Berlin, I thought she showed some progress on the offensive end of the floor, finished around the basket well, and looked like a better player than I saw last September. Kids who defend like her will find their way onto the floor.
