In any given graduation class, the proverbial cream always seems to rise to the top. Sometimes its obvious like the dominance of [player_tooltip player_id='252381' first='Maddyn' last='Greenway'] and [player_tooltip player_id='205310' first='Tori' last='Oehrlein'] at the pinnacle in the Class of 2026. When it comes to the Prep Girls Hoops rankings, though, positions #3 through #10 have been somewhat fluid. Now, as we complete the summer update of the 2026s, there's a new #3 and a variety of changes down the list. Which Top 50 incoming seniors moved up in the rankings? Read on for answers.

#3 [player_tooltip player_id='351665' first='Vienna' last='Murray'] – guard, East Ridge ([program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'])

The top 10 prospects in the Class of 2026 are a talented group with seven of them having made a D1 college commitment. The other three – Murray, [player_tooltip player_id='252383' first='Lanelle' last='Wright'] and [player_tooltip player_id='344333' first='Cail' last='Jahnke'] – hold very nice offers to choose from. Last summer, however, interest in Vienna's services for the next level soared into the stratosphere as one high major program after another came calling. At times it became difficult for the 6'1 guard (banner photo above) to keep up with all of the phone calls. That's a nice problem to have! Today, the number of offers exceeds 30 and interest from high-major programs continues to flourish.

We evaluate players in many different ways involving a variety of knowledgeable people, but there's no question that the voice of the college coaches has an outsized influence on the process. In Murray's case, the coaches have spoken and we have acted accordingly. As a result, Murray has risen from #9 in February of 2024 to #7 last summer to #5 this past winter. Now she moves up two spots to #3.

ON THE RISE IN THE TOP 20

#17 [player_tooltip player_id='502561' first='Marta' last='Forsline'] – post, Mesabi East ([program_tooltip program_id='712700' first='Minnesota' last='Suns'])

Some players rise to the upper echelons of their particular class right out of the gate – Greenway, Oehrlein, [player_tooltip player_id='471360' first='Mya' last='Moore'] and [player_tooltip player_id='252383' first='Lanelle' last='Wright'], for example. Others age like fine wine. After years of work and a commitment to continuous improvement, Marta's game has reached a tipping point in 2025. Given the fact that there are very few 6'3 forwards available nationwide, it was inevitable that Marta's fortunes would rise, and that's exactly what's happened.

Under the tutelage of Suns coach Dre Jefferson, Marta has been dominant this summer. A year ago I would receive a call or text from a college coach about Forsline from time to time. Now they come every week and the number keeps on growing. With extensive length, quality footwork and an advanced skillset that includes consistent success from long distance, a soft touch around the basket and a vast repertoire of defensive skills, Forsline is now a much more polished D1 prospect. Among her scholarship offers are St. Thomas, California-Davis, North Dakota State, Wyoming and UW-Green Bay. Marta started at #41 in the Freshmen 50 in the fall of 2022. In 2023 she rose to #26 then #25 then #24. Now she moves up to #17.

[player_tooltip player_id='498663' first='Madison' last='Ohm'] (front row, far left) has thrived with the 17U AAU state champions from [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] EYBL.

#15 [player_tooltip player_id='498663' first='Madison' last='Ohm'] – guard, Byron ([program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] EYBL)

We've always been bullish on Ohm's chances for success. The uber-athletic speedster brings a ton of energy to the proceedings with a package of potential that earned her a top 25 ranking in the Freshmen 50. Over time she continued to move up and earn D2 offers. It would have been very easy to say “yes” to any one of those opportunities and bring the recruiting process to a nice conclusion. Instead, Madison chose to challenge herself. By getting a highly valued opportunity to play the EYBL Circuit in 2025, Ohm took a gamble that she could perform well against the very best college prospects in the country. That's exactly what she has done. Madison now holds D1 offers with more likely once the upcoming live viewing periods are complete. She rises from #18 to #15.

Also moving up in the top 25 are #7 [player_tooltip player_id='458305' first='Audrey' last='Shindelar'] (Stewartville), #16 [player_tooltip player_id='515676' first='Samantha' last='Voll'] (Monticello) and #22 [player_tooltip player_id='589276' first='Taleigha' last='Bigler'] (Marshall).

BIGGEST TOP 50 MOVER

#27 [player_tooltip player_id='894002' first='Jayden' last='Sonnenberg'] – guard, Frazee (Inspired Athletics)

We saw Jayden live for the first time in April of 2024 against the top Fury UAA squad, a formidable opponent to be sure. Not surprisingly, the Fury prevailed. “When watching prospects play,” we wrote, “the score is pretty much meaningless. It's the potential that matters, and Jayden has tons. Her team may have been overmatched but on a personal level Jayden was most definitely not.”

Sonnenberg's athleticism was impressive. She played with pace, got downhill fast, shot well from distance and made a ton of plays against a quality opponent. “She is assertive and confident and looks every bit the part of a potential collegian,” we wrote. “Now that she's on the recruiting radar, there's no telling how high Jayden can go. Based on what we've seen so far, we think there could be a scholarship in her future.”

Today, the 5'11 senior-to-be holds D1 offers and we are receiving inquiries about her on a regular basis. As a result of her consistent improvement, performance against top opponents, and overall impact on every game she plays, we're pleased to move Jayden up 22 positions to #27.

Other players who raised their stock in the Top 50

#25 [player_tooltip player_id='455051' first='Vivian' last='Carter'] – forward, Holy Angels

#26 [player_tooltip player_id='515651' first='Addi' last='Schneider'] – guard, Chaska

#33 [player_tooltip player_id='589275' first='Sophia' last='Anderson'] – guard/forward, Maple Grove

#34 [player_tooltip player_id='717663' first='Le'Sedra' last='Williams'] – forward, Minnetonka

#41 [player_tooltip player_id='717668' first='Evelyn' last='Miller'] – forward, Orono
