New Names to Know

We've highlighted a few breakout candidates in the past few days. Today, I'd like to discuss some under-the-radar players whom I haven't written about before. Most of these kids don't play AAU over the summer or play at a large school, but let's talk about some new players you may not have known.   Mya Moran   The Valley Christian guard is a high-usage player for her high school team. The Warriors guard has a solid perimeter jumper and has the confidence to pull up off the dribble. Moran is also a solid finisher around the basket and can play through contact when she attacks the basket. Moran is a small-school player, but she has the tools to influence a game, and if she were an FVA kid, she'd be a rotational kid at worst in one of the top conferences in the state.   Jordyn Bowe   The Colfax guard is an upperclassman with a solid frame and the athleticism to affect games on both ends of the floor. Bowe has a knack for being around the ball on the defensive end of the floor and earning live-ball turnovers on that end of the floor. Bowe is also a solid perimeter threat on the offensive end of the floor. She has a quick release on her jumper and can space the floor as a spot-shooter behind the three-point line.   Lia Kezeske   The Rosholt guard is an active defensive player who can make plays on or off the ball. Whenever Kezeske's team goes into a zone, she does an excellent job of reading the game and jumping passing lanes from anywhere on the court. Her ability to create turnovers on or away from the ball can create transition opportunities for her team to earn layups in transition and earn points they may not have otherwise had. She's an intriguing kid solely based on how effective she can be defensively.   Calli Grosinski   The Whitewater wing is an excellent perimeter threat who can hurt defenses as a floor spacer. Grosinski is a confident shooter with solid footwork that helps her get her jumper up quickly. Her ability to shoot is a skill that can help her earn opportunities to play at the next level if she wants to pursue basketball at the next level. She may not have the most prominent name in the Rock Valley Conference, but she's a player who small schools in the region could have an interest in.
