With events scattered around the country in places like Kentucky, Ohio, Las Vegas and right here in New Jersey, there was no shortage of Jersey talent for college coaches to scout during July's first live period. With countless hours of film at my disposal, I was able to keep tabs on several recruits in this second round of film review, with the following six putting together standout performances:

[player_tooltip player_id='1247712' first='Ava' last='Paone'] | [program_tooltip program_id='774068' first='NJ' last='Panthers']

Ava had impressive performances at both Run 4 Roses Classic and Championship. She held off defenders applying lots of pressure and playing super physical trying to cool her off. Against teams such as NY Havoc and Michigan Knights, she attacked the lane fearlessly, smartly incorporating the floater into her game to avoid rejections near the basket. She had the hot hand from 3 and showed tremendous confidence burying that shot time and time again. Ava went down to Louisville and handled business, plain and simple!

Mia Vergel de Dios | [program_tooltip program_id='774068' first='NJ' last='Panthers']

Mia's combo guard skills were front and center at Roses against teams like SLAM Black, MN Rise and Team Lynwood. It was her passing, however, that really jumped out on film. Whether on the drive and kick or post-entry pass, she got her teammates touches and racked up the assists in the process. Some of these dimes were flashy, as she put some beautiful spin on the ball and placed it exactly in her teammate's pocket. Mia also went deep in her bag on offense, tallying points behind the arc both stepping into her shot and off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='959820' first='Rowan' last='Shapiro'] | Jersey Gemz

Though Nike Stop 3 was a shortened one, Rowan certainly made the most of it. Competing against EYCL teams such as HER Elite and the Huskies, she did a great job sinking the 3 ball even with the defender square in her face. A quick release made every shot look like a good shot! Defensively, she applied ball pressure in the half court and forced more than a handful of turnovers, igniting the fast break. She heads to Chicago with a ton of momentum after producing quality results in Louisville.

[player_tooltip player_id='601519' first='Annabel' last='Koss-DeFrank'] | [program_tooltip program_id='774068' first='NJ' last='Panthers']

Oozing confidence, Annabel made a huge impact down in Kentucky! She had her inside-out game clicking, swishing 3's and getting crafty around the rim. Strong hands and a soft finish made for lots of easy-breezy baskets through traffic. Fluid mobility getting up and down the court, but especially impressive in transition. She did such a great job pulling down rebounds and sprinting out to her basket in total attack-mode. A ton of versatility on display!

[player_tooltip player_id='651482' first='Callie' last='Decker'] | [program_tooltip program_id='714654' first='NJ' last='Shoreshots']

With stops in Kentucky and Ohio, Callie brought smoke for everybody! Her stop-and-pop game looked SO GOOD in this film sesh, getting to her spots near the elbow and sinking the smooth J. When she wasn't knocking down shots, she was dishing out dimes and showing off impressive court vision. She controlled the pace and even turned it up a gear at times, but didn't allow herself to get out of control. Smart basketball was played!

[player_tooltip player_id='871374' first='Sophie' last='Lane'] | [program_tooltip program_id='714666' first='United' last='New Jersey']

Long, athletic and amped up, she took her A-game to Louisville and took it to teams like Wood Elite and Always 100 Elite in the ultra-competitive Aqua Bracket. She wasted no time getting the ball off her fingertips, shooting the mid-range and 3-ball at a high clip. Strong baseline jumpers and rim play complimented her offensive versatility. Her length and quickness posed major match-up problems!
