Not every breakout happens in a blaze of glory and then is written about in an article. Some players build their case slowly and in most cases away from the spotlight. They simmer just beneath the surface, showing flashes before breaking out. Some might even put up monster numbers in a game that no one witnesses. This summer, there were a number of prospects who didn't get the exposure for some reason or another. They didn't dominate the headlines, but they definitely earned some ink. These are the players who simmered under the summer radar—and now, it's time they get their exposure.

[player_tooltip player_id='873946' first='Zakharia' last='Rutledge'] left an impression the very first time we laid eyes on her. Her ability to elevate over her peers is what really stood out. Rutledge can get to the rim and score and she also relies on offensive rebounds to score points. Rutledge has a nice outside stroke from behind the arch. Her athleticism and ability to elevate really stands out and allows her to excel. She relentlessly attacks the rim and is savvy at following her own shot, securing the offensive rebound and putting the ball back in the rim. Rutledge has the tools to cook and she will be a player to watch this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='766031' first='Bryce' last='Cherry'] really made a great impression at the Richardson showcase. Just seeing the six footer move with quickness and grace was impressive. Her activity on both ends of the floor left a lasting impression. She showed she could score on the inside, run the floor, and rebound the ball on both ends of the floor. The young Cherry is just scratching the surface of how good she can be.

[player_tooltip player_id='1232629' first='Abigail' last='Philistin'] left an impression over the summer and look for her stock to rise even more over the next year. Philistin brings the effort and the smoke and really represents at the forward position. She rebounds well and can push the ball herself in transition. She is relentless going for the ball and her effort inspires her teammates. Philistin can initiate the offense with her ball handling and can also be the focal point of the offense with her ability to pass the ball. pass the ball. The forward is no longer simmering - she is broiling and headed for a “main course” season.

Jahlaya is another big who stood out over the summer. Wilson is talented and plays with a lot of energy on the floor. Defense is where Wilson stands out. At 6'1'' she has the ability to control the inside and prevent easy buckets at the rim. Her offense is still catching up to her defense, but she does impact the game on both sides of the floor. Wilson rebounds with great confidence and does a good job of getting to loose ball. She makes her presence felt on the offensive end with timely rebounds and put backs and extra possessions. She simmered over the summer and she is looking to soar his upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1004974' first='Tanesha' last='Sloan'] has been steady in her role on the team, but she has the potential to take her game to a whole different level. Sloan has size and is an intimidating defender in the middle. She makes players think twice about entering the paint. She rebounds well and has shown signs of being a dominant glass cleaner. With Sloan, she has the ability to not just simmer, but cook. Consistency is the final ingredient for this under the radar power forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='927189' first='Trezure' last='Reese'] has the ability to score the ball from all over the court, and that makes her one of the most talented under the radar players in the State. Reese can shoot the three, run the floor, and has “get to the rim” ability. She has good height and can play the physical or finesse game, depending on the situation. Reese also has playmaking ability with her passing skills. She is under the radar player who has been simmering for a while. The pot is about to explode for this exciting prospect.
