Run 4 Roses Friday Standouts

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the top standouts from the second day of action at the Run 4 Roses in Louisville, KY   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/07/IMG_4338.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1268014" /></figure>   Dee Dee Newton ([program_tooltip program_id='712484' first='Della' last='Lamb'] 17U Gold): The 6'3 2026 forward from North Kansas City had a big performance in a win over KC Storm Elite. She is athletic and she runs the court with elegance. She was also blocking shots and rebounding out of her area. On offense, she displayed a nice spin move in the lane and she also stepped out and hit a 3-pointer.     *******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/07/IMG_4403.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1268041" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='409899' first='Camirah' last='Foster'] ([program_tooltip program_id='713121' first='Lady' last='Brad Beal Elite'] 17): The 5'6 2026 point guard from Hazelwood Central is a dynamic two-way performer and she showed it in her team's afternoon victory. She used her speed to blow by defenders and her handles to break them down. She was either finishing in the lane or dropping off some nice dimes to open teammates. Her ability to create and knock down shots from all three levels was on display. Whenever the opposing team would make a run, she would slam the door with a dagger 3-pointer off the bounce. She can work her way into the lane and elevate with her athleticism to hit layups and short jumpers. She has the ball handling skills and high basketball IQ to be an excellent playmaker. She used her height to score around the basket and she can also drive it and hit the 3-pointer, hence the matchup problems she causes. She is athletic and very aggressive in her driving pursuits to the basket. When she was able to get to her dominant left hand, she was hard to stop. She drove it aggressively, yet she finished with a soft touch on the runner.     ********   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/07/IMG_4441.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1268050" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='1054097' first='Daylin' last='Douglas'] (MO Phenom 14U EYBL): A 5'10 2029 guard from John Burroughs who is one of the state's top incoming freshmen. She has good length and athleticism and she plays with a lively bounce in her step. She covers a lot of ground with her stride when she drives to the basket. She can also shoot it from the perimeter. She already has a Division l offer from Saint Louis U.     *******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/07/IMG_4464.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1268055" /></figure>   Nakia McCottrell (Mid Pro 15U): A 5'10 2028 guard from O'Fallon (IL) which is just outside of St Louis. The young lefty is a physical player who powers her way through the lane to get tough buckets. She was also knocking down 3-points. The physical strength, combined with her skill set and being a southpaw makes her a very tough cover.   ******     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/07/IMG_4490.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1268064" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='631765' first='Ava' last='Pratt'] ([program_tooltip program_id='712484' first='Della' last='Lamb'] 16U): The 6'1 2027 forward from St Michael the Archangel excels just about anywhere on the floor with her height and sizable skill set. She can beat defenders off the drive going to her left and to her right with equal effectiveness. She can wheel and deal in the land and shoot it from distance. She was also making plays for others.
