High school basketball is just around the corner and everyone is looking forward to see who's going to light up the scoring column! New Jersey has had its share of prolific scorers in the past and with the talent getting better and better, this year looks to be just as exciting, if not more! These ten might just lead the pack!

[player_tooltip player_id='559077' first='Sidney' last='Smith'] | Roselle Park

Sid will look to pick up where she left off. The scoring champ last season, she put up 729 points, 65 of those in two postseason games! An average of 33.1 PPG, she ranked among the top scorers in the nation! The lowest anyone could hold her to was 22 points (vs Bernards), which is still a phenomenal performance by most standards.

[player_tooltip player_id='865698' first='Acadia' last='Walters'] | Bishop Eustace

New school, same scoring mentality. While Acadia will certainly have more scoring options than she did at Haddonfield, I still imagine she'll be the leading scorer and put up more blazing numbers. She put up 559 points last season, with 510 of those coming in the regular season. She's closing in on 1,000 points (enters Year 3 with 874) and will look to carry over a torrid shooting clinic from this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='644270' first='Gabby' last='D'Agostino'] | Hun

In just two seasons at The Hun School, Gabby tallied over 1,000 points. 1,003, to be exact! She did it while playing a non-traditional NJSIAA schedule, taking on talented teams from the MAPL and beyond. One of the best pure scorers in the state, she sure knows how to light it all the way up! 216 of her 633 points last season came on 3-pointers alone! I don't see anyone getting in her way of yet another 600-point season. Or better yet, one-upping herself and recording a 700-point season.

[player_tooltip player_id='835219' first='Dani' last='Daproza'] | Leonia

One of the quickest players in the state, when Dani turns the jets on, she's blazing straight to the basket for easy 2's. Her craftiness in transition, coupled with sharpshooting from 3-point land, made for 616 points in her sophomore season. She eclipsed the thousand-point mark and could very well flirt with 2,000 by the time March rolls around.

[player_tooltip player_id='835956' first='Rhaiyna' last='Brown'] | Immaculata

Rhaiyna spent the first two seasons at Timothy Christian, lighting it up day in and day out for a total of 1,113 points. She'll be in new threads this year as a junior, but the assignment will remain the same. I'd put her up there with the very best 3-point shooters in NJ. In fact, almost half of her career points have come from behind the arc! She'll have the same green light to shoot it at Immaculata as she inches closer to the big 2-0-0-0.

[player_tooltip player_id='559047' first='Lexi' last='Carnegie'] | Teaneck

In her first full season back from injury, Lexi dropped 446 points, good for 16.5 PPG. Now in Year 4, I have a feeling she's ready to turn the heat up a notch and really establish herself as one of the premier scorers, not only in Group 3, but in the entire state. She makes it look effortless out there and if anything, is a quiet scorer who, before you know it, has racked up 20+ points. Her career high is 27 points (vs Old Tappan on 2/13/25) but I'm certain she'll top that and notch MULTIPLE 30-point games as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='981887' first='Giovanna' last='Burress'] | DePaul

Gigi did her big one as a freshman, scoring 463 points in 23 games. After a huge breakout summer that saw her rack up offers from Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami and Marquette, to name a select few, she's ready to fully establish herself as one of the state's premier scorers. She'll have plenty of help on a team stacked with talent, but she is fully capable or turning up and taking over all on her own. 1,000 points could very well be reached by season's end.

[player_tooltip player_id='601413' first='Jahzara' last='Green'] | Gloucester Catholic

The newest St. Joseph's commit put up 500+ points in both her sophomore and junior years and enters her senior campaign with 1,419 points. She's certainly no stranger to filling up the box score, with double-digit 20-point games last season and a career-high 42-point explosion vs Wildwood on 2/20/25. An elite player coming off a hugely successful summer on the EYBL circuit, Z is ready to continue her domination into the winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='601332' first='Annie' last='Conover'] | New Providence

Annie crossed the 1,000-point mark for her career last season and put up her highest total to date, dropping 583 points in 31 games. She saved her best for the postseason, recording a career-high 31 points vs Thrive Charter to claim the Central Jersey, Group 1 sectional crown. Annie doesn't fear competition, she embraces it. She was only one of a select few to eclipse the 500-point mark last season and with upped intensity, could best that and reach new heights with 600+. When you have a hot hand like Annie {especially from 3), anything's possible.

[player_tooltip player_id='825463' first='Rhyan' last='Watt'] | West Orange

Rhyan's sophomore season was nothing short of spectacular. Leading her very talented team in scoring at 17.0 PPG, she helped West Orange book a spot in the Group 4 State Final. With 577 points to her name, she put on shooting clinics against some of NJ's top teams. She enters Year 3 with 799 points to her name and with the graduation of high-powered scorers in Kyley Gary-Grayson and Anaya Karriem, she could really take it to another level. A 600, or even 700-point season could certainly be in the cards.
