Bossier City's Top Talent Set to Shine This Season

As the preseason for the Lady Kats of Bossier City High School, a division 4A basketball team in the Bossier parish district, is now underway, the squad features many talented young players who will be taking the floor this season. They are led by Head Coach Drake Smith. Coach Smith has expressed his excitement for the upcoming season and is eager to begin the regular season, looking forward to seeing his players excel on the court and showcase their skills. Adrianna Gooden, also known as "Dree," is a highly anticipated point guard from the class of 2026 at Bossier City High School. As she approaches her senior year, Dree is eagerly looking forward to the upcoming season. She demonstrates remarkable confidence on the court, taking shots from beyond the arc or mid-range against a less robust defense. Her ability to drive to the basket, finish strong through contact, and draw fouls for easy free throws keeps opposing defenses off balance. Dree consistently makes excellent decisions, whether she has possession of the ball or not. She is a truly unselfish player, adept at assisting her teammates and setting them up for success. Her style of play clearly reflects a strong desire to win and an unwavering hustle. Dree is prepared to give her absolute best on the court for the Lady Kats in this final and upcoming season.     Zamarion Carter, also known as "Zee," is a combo guard for Bossier City High School's class of 2027. Zee is an excellent floor general for the Lady Kats. She is very vocal on the court and fully committed to leading her team on both ends of the floor. Zee is not afraid to make her presence known. She is a very quick and agile athlete, which allows her to create plays and opportunities for herself and her teammates. She is a very unselfish player, consistently creating opportunities with and without the ball in her hands. Defensively, Zee applies significant pressure on her opponents, leading to numerous opportunities for steals and turnovers. Her quick hands often catch opponents by surprise when she strips the ball and transitions it downcourt. Zee is also an impressive rebounder for her size and position, and her style of play is truly exciting to witness. I am eagerly anticipating what she will achieve in the upcoming regular season.     [player_tooltip player_id='1353644' first='Orianna' last='Edwards'] Orianna, also known as "O," is a talented 5'8" Center/Small Forward from the class of 2027, representing Bossier City High School. She is anticipated to have a remarkable season this year. Orianna is a versatile athlete for the Lady Kats, demonstrating her ability to play aggressively in the post with her back to the basket, distributing precise passes to her teammates, and confidently sinking shots from beyond the three-point line. She has significantly enhanced her game over the summer, incorporating new skills into her repertoire. This upcoming season, Orianna will be taking on a more prominent role in ball-handling compared to previous years. She excels at playing the lanes, communicating effectively on the court, and generating opportunities through her hustle and rebounding efforts. Furthermore, she is a formidable presence on defense, possessing the footwork and agility to guard all five positions. Rest assured, she is not to be underestimated; any points scored against her will be hard-earned.     Ayanna Brydson, a forward for the Lady Kats at Bossier City High School (class of 2028), shows a lot of heart and effort on the court, and it really shines through in her playing style on both offense and defense. She'll dive for loose balls or take a charge, and she's a smart athlete with a great understanding of the game and different situations. Ayanna worked super hard this summer, becoming a real gym rat, honing her skills and adding new moves to her game. She's turned into a player known for her high motor and work ethic, and she brings it every time she's on the court. She crashes the boards fearlessly, drawing fouls, and she can hit mid-range shots and even occasionally step out for a three. It's awesome to have a player like her on your team – great attitude, effort, and growing skills that should get her a lot of playing time.     China West, a forward for the Lady Kats' 2027 class, is set to play some serious minutes this season. She's super skilled in the post and her mid-range jumpers are next level. She's awesome at catch-and-shoot, and her paint control and post-up game are pure art. China's a great defender for the Lady Kats, with amazing rebounding and shot-blocking abilities, making her a total powerhouse on defense. Can't wait to see her in action this season!     [player_tooltip player_id='1353731' first='Janyiah' last='Wagner'], a forward for the Lady Kats at Bossier City High School (Class of 2027), is looking really promising this year. She's going to be playing some super important minutes. Janyiah's got this amazing energy and hustle that's just awesome to see in a young player. She's a fantastic on-ball defender, and even though she's a bit smaller than most small forwards, she can totally hold her own in the post, fighting for rebounds and causing turnovers. Offensively, her sweet spot is those mid-range jumpers.
