ELV8 Super 32 Senior Showcase Breakout Performers

The ELV8 Senior Showcase had some performances that captured the attention of college coaches and scouts that were in attendance. There were 6 College Colleges and two local scouts covering the event. The players did not disappoint as the action was fierce and competitive the entire day. Here are some of the breakout performers.    [player_tooltip player_id='1140907' first='Ceraya' last='Grace Bandy'] turned in an outstanding breakout performance at the Showcase, securing a College Offer from Nelson University. She has outstanding athleticism and speed. She is great in transition offense, being able to finish at the basket or on the pull-up jump shot. Her long range shooting is getting better and better. She also has improved tremendously on her defense and rebounding. She can guard several positions and she is a fierce competitor. Look for Ceraya to pick up several more offers in the next few months.       [player_tooltip player_id='1052279' first='Angel' last='Amarillas'] will be regarded as one of the top senior prospects in Southern Arizona this season. She has excellent size and athleticism for a small forward. She is a very good shooter for a forward and she can play in the post as well. She is a solid defender and rebounder and she runs the floor well. Angel is a fierce competitor and a highly motivated athlete. She is an excellent leader on the floor, and she is a good communicator. She will play on the next level.     [player_tooltip player_id='594250' first='Naylissa' last='Charles'] had a nice showing at the Showcase and definitely showed that she can compete with some of the best players in Arizona. She is a Shooting guard in my opinion, but can play point guard and small forward. She is a very good ball handler that sees the floor well, and can distribute the ball in traffic and press situations. She is a very good defender that can defend guards and forwards. Naylissa showed the ability to shoot the ball well in the skills session and she can score on the drive as well. She has a very high basketball IQ and she is a seasoned veteran. She will have a huge year this year for Coolidge and look for Charles to Garner significant recruiting attention.     [player_tooltip player_id='847114' first='Chanel' last='Yellowman'] has made the move to Reigning two-time 5A State Champion Canyon View. This will elevate Canyon View's chances of repeating, having pretty much their entire roster back plus a few high profile transfers. Chanel will add shooting depth to the Jaguars. She is a terrific long-range shooter, that can score off the catch or off the dribble. She is a 3 level scorer and she can be effective in transition offense either at the 3 point line or the drive and finish. She is a good defender that can defend both guard positions. She is a very experienced player and will add leadership and poise to an already loaded roster. Look for Chanel to raise her game to another level this season for the Jaguars.       Jocelyn Ortega had an excellent showing at the Showcase, displaying the ability to rise to the occasion on the big stage with high level competition. She is an excellent 3 point shooter. She can pull up at the line or catch and shoot. She is a good ball handler and passer, that's why I project her as a point guard on the next level. She is poised under pressure and she is a fierce competitor. She played excellent defense during the Showcase and she is excellent in both transition offense and defense. She is under the radar right now, but she elevated her stock in front of College coaches in attendance. Look for this to be a breakout season for Jocelyn at Sahuarita.     Naji Jones is the prototype Power Forward. She has good height and size to be extremely effective on the next level. She moves well for a player her size, and she also can handle the ball in traffic. She is a good mid-range shooter, but her wheel house will be in the post. If she continues to develop in the paint offensively, she could be a highly recruited prospect. She transferred to Canyon View this summer, which will make them the early favorites to win the Open Division this upcoming season. This will be a breakout season for the veteran Power Forward,.
