The class of 2029 is officially in high school now, so it's time to add their names to a watch list on the Prep Girls Hoops North Carolina site. Here are some noteworthy guards to keep your eyes on based on some of my notes notes from this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1322206' first='Giselle' last='Brown'] was making her moves to the basket barreling her way to some points off the glass. She read the defense well jumping into the right open spots looking for the pass, and her movements shifted the defense. She used her IQ to be a nuisance on the other end of the court disrupting her opponents' offensive sets.

[player_tooltip player_id='1322209' first='Kaitlyn' last='Trotter'] already has a high IQ handling the ball and knowing how to get plays going on offense. She attacks the basket even making strong buckets through contact. She had some nice range with her shot, too. She drops back into the defensive stance right away ready to tackle the ball handler coming up the other end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1322210' first='Alliyah' last='Hairston'] did well handling the ball making plays for her team. She attacked the gaps making defenders collapse while she dished the ball to her teammates, or she took the shot herself pulling up quickly losing her defenders. She knew how to protect the possession stalling with the ball to time the play effectively.

[player_tooltip player_id='1322207' first='Sara' last='Simko'] is already an excellent floor general playing at a high level knowing how to make the right passes to her teammates. She can create her own open space, too, showing off her range shooting the ball or attacking the basket for some points. Her ability to anticipate passes on defense is fun to watch as she jumps into passing lanes.
