Top Shooting Guards From Hoop Mountain Showcase

I attended the [program_tooltip program_id='714624' first='Hoop' last='Mountain'] Fall Showcase at Brandeis University, where there was a strong group of talent competing in front of dozens of college coaches. Here are the shooting guards that stood out to me.    Erin has a deep bag of finishes, showing off crafty moves like euro steps and off-hand layups that she converts with smooth touch. No matter which approach she chooses, she often finds a way to score. She can also create for herself in the mid-range, squaring up and balancing nicely off the dribble. Even when matched with larger opponents, Erin does a great job of denying them position and not letting them get the upper hand.     Mira has no hesitation in her catch-and-shoot game, confidently letting it fly the moment the ball touches her hands. She moves well along the perimeter to create open looks for herself and wastes no time in catching and releasing within an instant. Her effort level is impressive, as she consistently boxes out players much taller than her and always sprints back on defense. Even with games running for hours, her intensity never dropped. Mira's shooting ability and relentless motor will be a major asset for Beaver this winter as she enters her sophomore year.     Juliet is a physical player who isn't afraid to get into the paint and embrace contact. She showed her ability to draw fouls and finish through traffic, making her a tough matchup inside. When bringing the ball up the court, Juliet is a pass-first guard who looks to create opportunities for her teammates, but she also makes strong, decisive moves to the basket when the lane opens up. Off the ball, she moves with purpose, opening up space for others while also putting herself in great positions to score.     Alana is a very good three-point shooter, which forces defenders to play her high on the perimeter. When they crowd her too tightly, she takes advantage by blowing right past them and finishing strongly at the basket, often through contact. Her movement without the ball is one of her biggest strengths, consistently creating easy looks both beyond the arc and in the paint. On defense, Alana establishes a strong presence, keeping opponents out of the lane and putting them in tough situations.     Solana can score on multiple levels, making her a constant threat on offense. From the outside, she's capable of knocking down threes even when tightly contested, while inside her floater stood out as an effective way to get points over taller defenders. On defense, Solana moves her feet well and stays in front of whoever she's guarding. Her hustle is unmatched, as she gives full effort on every possession and never takes a play off.
