Every year, when the Gatorade Player of the Year conversation comes up, it becomes less about just who scored the most and more about who checks every box. The award looks at honest production, academic success, and character both on and off the court. And with high school coaches being able to nominate and vote, the conversation isn't always as clear as looking at stats or highlights. It more than likely comes down to who has earned the coach's respect across the state and whose performance has translated to success.
