6A Preseason Favorites Dominating Early

Preseason title favorites in Class 6A have kicked off the season with impressive performances. These top teams have established themselves as the ones to beat by overpowering the competition. Let's highlight some of the standout performers from these top teams.    Crittendon's combination of size and agility makes her a tough matchup for any opponent. She is unstoppable in the low post, scoring efficiently with a variety of moves. On defense, Crittendon excels at blocking and altering shots. Her strong interior presence allows Riverdale to get after it with their premier defense. Crittendon is proving there is nothing she can not do on the court.     Kain is a smooth do-it-all freshman guard who is playing like a seasoned vet. She has great court vision and can make any pass required. Kain excels at driving to the basket, finishing at the rim, and setting up teammates. She is also capable of knocking down mid-range and three-point jumpers with ease.     Gilpatrick provides a steady defensive presence for the Eagles with her rebounding and shot blocking. She utilizes her size to shield defenders, finishing plays through contact. Additionally, Gilpatrick is establishing herself as a capable stretch four with her ability to confidently make jump shots.     Broadus can light it up from deep. Whether it is a catch-and-shoot or off the bounce, she is an outstanding three-point shooter. She runs the floor well and knows how to get to her spots. She can handle the ball and finish well through contact.  Broadus excels defensively by reading passing lanes and forcing turnovers with active hands.     Parker is the definition of a floor general. She controls the offense, setting up her teammates for great looks.  She is an efficient shooter from behind the arc.  Parker's defensive energy disrupts plays, and generates turnovers leading to easy transition buckets.     Jones is a tremendous player with the ability to score from all levels.  She attacks the baskets well utilizing a variety of moves.  She is effective in catch-and-shoot situations but can also knock down shots off the dribble as well. Her ability to draw fouls and get to the free throw line is a great skill set.
