Cienega Bobcats Standouts 12/2/25

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I attended the December 2nd matchup between the Cienega Bobcats and the Casa Grande Cougars. I was impressed with the overall talent across all grades Coach James Jackson has at Cienega. Strong senior leadership paired with some high impact freshmen and a couple juniors who flat out HUSTLE should keep Cienega competitive for the next few years. Incredibly tough on ball defender who rarely let her defender by the entire game. Came up with a few steals and many forced turnovers. Strong passer out on the perimeter who seemed to always get the ball to its target. Strong transition player on both ends. First I was shocked that she was a freshman. She plays very composed and at a high level at all times. Great rebounding ability and was able to score well inside. Able to stretch the floor with her three ball. Very vocal as she was constantly calling out the opponents defenses, screens etc. Has a great feel and IQ for the game and showing she can be a top 2029 Southern Arizona prospect. Came off the bench and immediately impacted the game with her rebounding ability. Very disruptive on the defensive end not letting opposing bigs get to their spot. High defensive IQ and has speed to get the steal and dribble the length of the court for the layup. Crashes the boards it seemed on every shot and rebounded missed shots more than not. Constantly moving and setting her team up for the best possible possession. A strong presence in the paint. Has great footwork and can score nicely inside. Shoots at a high percentage in the mid range off the catch. Forced many turnovers that led to points for the Bobcats. Has a dangerous three ball with a very quick release. Good dribbler who sees the floor well and came up with some nice passes. Handles the ball well in transition and was on the receiving end of some passes in transition as she showed her speed and finished some layups. Rebounded very well for her position and played physical. She was getting defensive boards, forcing turnovers getting blocks and winning the 50/50 battles. She definitely had her scoring opportunities that she finished well. She hustled all game long and kept coming up with play after play.
