<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the standout forwards we watched on the stream at the Morris Brothers Holiday Invitational at Walnut Grove.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='777608' first='Bristol' last='Lathrop'] (Ash Grove): A 6'1" 2027 forward who is a Division I prospect and one of the top players in the SWMO area. She is a matchup problem with her height and tremendous skill set. She was really shooting it well from 3-point range in the victory over Appleton City in the quarterfinals. She scored a game-high 23 points. She was also backing down defenders and hitting short jumpers off the glass. She also showed off her playmaking skills with her ball handling and ability to find open teammates with her passing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lilian Lasker (Pierce City): A 5'9" 2026 forward who had a strong game in Pierce City's victory over Marion C. Early. She is a good athlete who plays with a blue-collar style that is very effective. She is a tremendous worker who rebounds the ball out of her area at both ends of the court. She is also a strong post-up player who got tough buckets in the paint. Her last points were a three-point play in the closing seconds that gave her team the victory.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1309447' first='Kayleigh' last='Steimel'] (Fordland): A 5'8" 2027 forward who is an impressive athlete who does a little of everything for her team. In addition to being the top scoring threat, she is also the team's primary ball handler and best defender. She was penetrating into the gaps and either getting buckets or finding open teammates. When needed, she can also go inside and score in the post. She was also making good rotations on defense to block a shot or get a steal.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Armani Blackmon (Sparta): A 6'0" 2028 forward who is a physical young post player with the ability to score and rebound. She is a threat to have a double-double every time she steps on the floor. She is very good at establishing her position inside and she has soft hands to catch the ball. She does a good job of keeping the ball high and finishing around the basket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rylie Fletcher (Marionville): A 5'10" 2028 forward who has good height and athleticism to impact play at both ends of the court. She hit a nice baseline jumper to start off things in the Comets' victory over Lamar in the quarterfinals. She scores well inside and she also runs the court well. She is active on the back end of the full court press with her activity. She can also dart the passing lanes for a steal and a layup.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McKenna McLean (Marion C. Early): A 5'9" 2027 forward who was a very dependable finisher inside. She made some strong moves from the high post where she was able to score with either hand. She also had some nice rim runs where she scored in the transition game. She was active on the boards and she walled up well on the defensive end and blocked a few shots. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nekalia Young (Marionville): A 2029 forward who is a bright young talent that is just getting started. She really makes things happen with her athleticism and high energy. She grabbed 10 rebounds in the victory over Lamar in the quarterfinals. She can also block and contest shots around the basket. She runs the court well and she can switch out and defend guards with her length and mobility. She has quite and upside.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='874631' first='Sadie' last='Loehr'] (Walnut Grove): A 2027 small forward who plays a solid overall game and she does it at her own pace. She uses the shot fake well to set up her drives into the lane. She also facilitates well with her good court vision to create for her teammates. She plays well on defense on the second line of the full court press. She pursues the ball well to get deflections and steals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Andi Humes (Pierce City): A 6'0" 2028 forward who has a strong presence on the interior. She catches the ball well and she made some tough moves in the low post to finish. She had a nice five-point run to start the second quarter in the victory over MCE in the quarterfinals. She rebounds well and she made some nice interior passes, which led to layups.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Alivia Duit (Ash Grove): A 6'0" 2028 forward who is a promising young post player. She is very effective on the drive when she gets to her dominant left hand. She scored a couple of tough buckets on the drive from the high post and on a drop step move. She also has a nice up and under move. She can also pass it well on the interior. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
