Game Recap: North Quincy Earns Win Over Pembroke

I had the chance to check out the North Quincy vs. Pembroke game yesterday on 12/19. North Quincy pulled away for a 43–33 win, improving to 2-0 to start the season. This was a high-effort, high-energy game on both ends of the floor, with defense standing out for each team. Scoring didn't come easy, with both teams making things difficult for their opponent.   Below are a few players who stood out:    Nora led North Quincy offensively and worked hard on both ends. The junior guard showed poise and good shot selection, knocking down the three and getting into the lane. She finished with 13 points to lead her team in scoring and provide impactful minutes.     Sophie brought high energy and made an impact in multiple ways for Pembroke. She came up with multiple steals that sparked runs, finished an up-and-under in the paint for a foul, and was a tough defender and rebounder. A do-it-all player who affects the game in many areas.     Alaya impacted the game on both ends. Defensively, she moved well on the perimeter and in the paint, coming up with stops and blocks. Offensively, she scored in multiple ways —backdoor cut, power move in the post, and an offensive rebound for an easy basket or free throws—and made solid passes from the high and low post. She finished with 7 points, but her impact went beyond the stat sheet, altering shots and drawing defensive attention.     Alissa was a difference maker for Pembroke. She used strong spin moves to get into the paint for finishes and trips to the line, shot the open three, and remained a scoring threat. Defensively, she was impactful on the glass as a strong rebounder.     Maeghan finished with 9 points and showcased her shooting ability with a quick release from three. She also put pressure on the defense by driving strong into the paint. On the defensive end, she worked hard and hustled for stops. The senior captain helped lead her team to the win.     Molly is a freshman to keep an eye on. She finished with 6 points, but her impact went beyond the stat line. She anticipated passes well, coming up with multiple steals, and knocked down shots—including a three off a steal. A high-effort player who consistently makes plays.
